1. A radio local area network (RLAN) for providing concurrent wireless telecommunication services for a plurality of user equipments (UEs) between UEs and/or the Internet comprising:
- a first base station having a transceiver for conducting time division duplex (TDD) code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless communications with UEs in a selected geographic region;
a first Radio Network Controller (RNC) coupled with said first base station for controlling base station communication; and
a Radio Access Network Internet Protocol (RAN IP) Gateway having a Gateway General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Support Node (GGSN) for connection with the Internet; and
said Radio Access Network Internet Protocol (RAN IP) Gateway coupled with said RNC via an Iu-PS interface using a stacked, layered protocol connection having a lower transport layer configured to use Internet Protocol (IP).
