Abstract

In the prior art, a user bore a heavy burden on operating together different products having the same functions. A user 102 calls a job net managing function 105 via GUI/CLI 103, and defines a job net 106. A job net execution controlling function 109 interrupts a definition of the job net 106, and sequentially executes the defined jobs. The defined jobs call not real commands directly, but switchers 110 to 114 that define regularized interfaces. The switchers, referring to environment variables 101, select adaptors 115 and 116 properly to call real commands 117 and 118 corresponding thereto.

Claims

1. A job processing method for executing a plurality of jobs defined as a job net, comprising the steps of:

regularizing a plurality of the same functions whose command names and option specifying methods differ depending on manufacturers and products; and

causing said jobs to call regularized interfaces to execute the regularized functions.

2. The job processing method according to claim 1, further comprising the steps of switching a function specified via said regularized interface to a call for a proper real command on the basis of variables defined using environment variables of an operating system outside a job net.

3. The job processing method according to claim 1, wherein one of a plurality of templates using the regularized interfaces for different tasks is referred to for executing a specific task.

4. The job processing method according to claim 2, wherein one of a plurality of templates using the regularized interfaces for different tasks is referred to for executing a specific task.

5. A job processing unit for executing a plurality of jobs defined as a job net, comprising:

means for defining an interface regularizing a plurality of the same functions whose command names and option specifying methods differ depending on manufacturers and products; and

means for causing said job to call the regularized interface.

6. The job processing unit according to claim 5, wherein means for defining said regularized interface comprises:

means for referring to a variable defined using an environment variable of an operating system outside a job net; and

means for switching a called function to a call for a proper command by using said regularized interface on the basis of said variable.

7. The job processing unit according to claim 5, wherein said means for defining said regularized interface is provided for each different function.

8. The job processing unit according to claim 6, wherein said means for defining said regularized interface is provided for each different function.

9. The job processing unit according to claim 5, further comprising a plurality of templates for different tasks, which templates use regularized interfaces and are referred to for specific tasks.

10. The job processing unit according to claim 6, further comprising a plurality of templates for different tasks, which templates use regularized interfaces and are referred to for specific tasks.

11. The job processing unit according to claim 7, further comprising a plurality of templates for different tasks, which templates use regularized interfaces and are referred to for specific tasks.

12. The job processing unit according to claim 8, further comprising a plurality of templates for different tasks, which templates use regularized interfaces and are referred to for specific tasks.

13. A storage managing system for managing a storage device by executing a plurality of jobs defined as a job net, wherein said job processing unit for managing said memory device is the job processing unit as set forth in claim 5.

14. A job processing program for executing in a computer a plurality of jobs defined as a job net, comprising:

a processing program for defining a regularized interface that regularizes a plurality of the same functions whose command names and option specifying methods differ depending on manufacturers and products; and

a processing program for causing said job to call said regularized interface, wherein

the processing program for defining said regularized interfaces comprises;

a processing program for referring to variables defined using environment variables of an operating system outside a job net; and

a processing program for causing said regularized interface to switch a called function to a call for a proper real command according to said variables.

15. The job program according to claim 14, wherein said processing program for defining said regularized interface is provided for each different function.
