Abstract

A light weight animal grooming brush has a contoured gripping handle and head attached to the handle having a working surface carrying grooming implements such as tines. The working surface is contoured and is disposed at an angle to the handle.

Claims

1. An animal grooming brush assembly comprising

an elongated handle,

a slot in the handle and a grooming comb removably housed in the slot,

and a brush head attached to the handle.

2. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 1 wherein the head carries a pad having implements for grooming an animal'"'"'s fur.

3. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 2 wherein the implements are combing tines.

4. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 3 wherein the tines are of different sizes.

5. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 1 wherein the brush head has a convex working side.

6. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 5 wherein the working side carries combing tines.

7. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 6 wherein the tines include a row of generally parallel tines arranged in a row transverse to the longitudinal direction of the handle and adjacent the end of the handle attached to the head.

8. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 7 wherein the working side of the head carries an array of thin and flexible tines for grooming relatively dense and long haired fur.

9. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 6 wherein the head carries a pad on its working side, and the tines extend away from the pad.

10. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 9 wherein the pad is detachably connected to the head, and the tines are carried by the pad.

11. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 1 wherein the handle has a soft elastomeric surface.

12. An animal grooming brush assembly as described in claim 10 wherein the handle is contoured for engaging the fingers.

13. An animal grooming brush assembly comprising

an elongated handle having contours for the fingers and a soft elastomeric surface,

a brush head attached to one end of the handle and disposed at an angle to the handle and having a convex working side,

and a detachable pad carried on the working side of the head and carrying an implement for grooming an animal'"'"'s fur.

14. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 13 wherein the implement is an array of combing tines.

15. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 14 wherein the tines are of different sizes.

16. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 15 wherein the comb has fine wire tines for surface and middle depth hair.

17. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 13 wherein the working side of the head has a convex surface generated about an axis generally perpendicular to the longitudinal center line of the handle and generally parallel to the plane of the top of the handle.

18. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 17 wherein the implement is an array of combing tines.

19. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 18 wherein the tines are of different sizes.

20. An animal grooming brush as described in claim 17 wherein a slot is provided in the handle and a grooming comb is removably housed in the slot.
