Abstract

A flexible feature interface for multimedia sources system that includes a single interface for the addition of features and functions to multimedia sources and for accessing those features and functions from remote hosts. The interface utilizes the export statement: export “C” D11Export void FunctionName(int argc, char** argv, char*result, SecureSession*ctrl) or the binary equivalent of the export statement.

Claims

1. A flexible features interface for multimedia sources method, comprising:

providing a system, said system having system constituents;

providing an operating system;

providing at least one features an/or functions module that interacts with said at least one system to actualize said system constituents, and

connecting said system, said operating system, and said at least one features an/or functions module through an interface, wherein said interface comprises the following export statement;

2. The flexible features interface for multimedia sources method of claim 1, wherein said system is a biometrics system.

3. The flexible features interface for multimedia sources method of claim 1, wherein said system is a security surveillance system

4. The flexible features interface for multimedia sources method of claim 3, wherein said security surveillance system includes a video surveillance camera.

5. The flexible features interface for multimedia sources method of claim 4, wherein said at least one features an/or functions module includes at least one of the camera action constituents:

initialize or start capture or stop capture or start playing or stop playing or send command or Zoom or focus or stop or pan or tilt.

6. A flexible features interface for multimedia sources apparatus, comprising:

a system,

system constituents,

an operating system;

at least one features an/or functions module for interacting with said at least one system to actualize said system constituents, and

an interface for connecting said system, said operating system, and said at least one features an/or functions module, wherein said interface utilizes the export statement;

11. A biometrics apparatus, comprising:

a biometrics unit,

a work station,

an operating system,

a multiplicity of features an/or functions modules for interacting with said biometrics unit, said work station, and said operating system, and

an interface for connecting said biometrics unit, said work station, said operating system, and said features an/or functions modules.

24. The biometrics unit of claim 23 wherein said system for collecting and analyzing biometrics data in humans is an automated fingerprint identification system.

25. The biometrics unit of claim 23 wherein said system for collecting and analyzing biometrics data in humans is a personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics.

26. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is a face recognition system.

27. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is an iris and/or retinal scan system.

28. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is a speech recognition system.

29. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is voice identification system.

30. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is facial thermograms system.

31. The biometrics unit of claim 25 wherein said personal identification system in which people are recognized by their own unique corporal or behavioral characteristics is hand geometry system.
