Abstract

An apparatus for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image has a memory device for storing information for processing a two-dimensional image and for generating a three-dimensional image from the two-dimensional image, a processing device for processing a digital representation of an image by generating a two-dimensional image from the digital representation and by generating a three-dimensional image corresponding to the two-dimensional image, and an output device for outputting a three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of the three-dimensional image. An associated method is also disclosed.

Claims

1. An apparatus for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

a memory device for storing information for processing a two-dimensional image and information for generating a three-dimensional image from said two-dimensional image;

a processing device for processing a digital representation of an image, wherein said processing device generates a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image, and further wherein said processing device generates a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

an output device for outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image.

7. The apparatus of any one of claims 1, 3, or 4, wherein said processing device processes a financial transaction.

2. A method for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

storing information for processing a two-dimensional image and information for generating a three-dimensional image from said two-dimensional image;

processing a digital representation of an image;

generating a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image;

generating a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image.

8. The method of any of claims 2, 5, or 6, further comprising:

processing a financial transaction in conjunction with the processing of said digital representation of an image

3. An apparatus for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

a receiver for receiving a digital representation of an image;

a memory device for storing information for processing a two-dimensional image and information for generating a three dimensional image from said two-dimensional image;

a processing device for processing said digital representation of an image, wherein said processing device generates a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image, and further wherein said processing device generates a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

at least one of an output device, for outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, and a transmitter for transmitting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image to a one of computer and a communication device over a communication network.

4. An apparatus for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

a receiver for receiving a digital representation of an image;

a processing device for processing said digital representation of an image, wherein said processing device generates a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image, and further wherein said processing device generates a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

at least one of an output device, for outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, and a transmitter for transmitting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, to a one of computer and a communication device over a communication network.

5. A method for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

receiving a digital representation of an image;

storing information for processing a two dimensional image and information for generating a three-dimensional image from said two-dimensional image;

processing said digital representation of an image;

generating a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image;

generating a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

at least one of outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, and transmitting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, to a one of computer and a communication device over a communication network.

6. A method for generating a three-dimensional representation from a two-dimensional image, comprising:

receiving a digital representation of an image;

processing said digital representation of an image;

generating a two-dimensional image from said digital representation of an image;

generating a three-dimensional image corresponding to said two-dimensional image; and

at least one of outputting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, and transmitting at least one of said three-dimensional image and a digital signal representation of said three-dimensional image, to a one of computer and a communication device over a communication network.
