1. A swimming pool light assembly for connecting a light to a side wall of a pool where a pool light niche is not provided, said assembly comprises:
- (a) an interchangeable light wherein said light is in water;
(b) a watertight connector comprising a first end and a second end operable to deliver at least one of power and control signals to said light through said first end;
(c) a cable with a first end connected to said connector for providing at least one of power from a power source and a control signal from a controller to said light;
(d) wherein said light is operable for connecting and disconnecting from said watertight connector while both said connector and said light are submerged in water.

16. An underwater light system wherein a submersible light is interchangeable, said light system comprising:

(a) a submersible light comprising a connection end;
(b) a watertight connector comprising a first end operable to receive at least one of power and a control signal and a second end that is connected to said connection end of said light for delivering at least one of said power and said control signal to said light;
(c) a power source for providing power to said light;
(d) a controller for providing a control signal to said light;
(e) a cable with a first end connected to said connector for providing at least one of power from said power source and a control signal from said controller to said light;

28. A submersible light system for replacing a niche light system in a swimming pools wherein a niche is cut into a side of said swimming pool, said system comprising:

(a) a plate to fit within said niche;
(b) a submersible light comprising a lens cover and a connection end;
(c) a watertight connector comprising a first end operable to receive at least one of power and a control signal and a second end operable to deliver at least one of power and a control signal to said light;
(d) a cable with a first end connected to said connector for providing at least one of power from a power source and a control signal from a controller to said light;
(e) a hole comprising a minimum diameter formed therethrough said plate;
(f) wherein said plate closes said niche and said light is operable for connecting and disconnecting from said watertight connector through said hole in said plate while both said connector and light are submerged in water;
(g) wherein said diameter of said hole is at a minimum size to allow at least one of said connector and said connection end of said light to fit within. - View Dependent Claims (29, 30, 31)
