Abstract

The present invention discloses a remote control system based on the Internet and a method thereof utilizing an IPAC (Internet Protocol Adapter/Converter) module which collects data and forms an interface with the peripheral devices which are executing tasks through the electrical connection of arbitrary analog/digital signals, in accordance with signals are programmed by the users. If this programmed commands and controlled results are recognized by a target device, the IPAC uploads the data to the Internet and controls, transmits and receives the data in sequence in order to store to a NxtView server of the website. The system according to this present invention remotely controls various devices through the Internet and comprises NxtView IPACs installed in each of the various devices, a NxtView server connected to the IPACs through the Internet, the clients connected to the server through the Internet and a means for transmitting the status of each device connected to the server.

Claims

1. A remote control system based on the Internet for controlling various devices remotely, wherein said system comprising:

an NxtView IPAC (herein after, called an ‘

IPAC’

) installed in each of said devices;

an NxtView server (herein after, called an ‘

server’

) connected to said IPAC through the Internet;

plurality of clients connected to said server through the Internet; and

plurality of means for transmitting the status of said various devices connected to said server.

2. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 1, wherein said each device includes a computer, a security system, an industrial controller, a tank monitor, a sensor, a factory temperature and a vending machine.

3. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 1, wherein said plurality of means include a facsimile machine, a telephone, a pager, a computer and an alarm machine.

4. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 1, wherein said IPAC comprises:

a CPU for controlling said IPAC;

a power supply for supplying power to said CPU;

a switch for directly controlling said IPAC to operate by changing over said switch;

a clock signal generator for generating clock signal and calendar signal and transmitting said clock signal and calendar signal to said CPU;

a storing means for storing the data inputted from said various devices to the IPAC;

a modem for communicating with said server; and

a port multiplexer having plurality of serial ports and parallel ports for data transmission.

5. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 4, wherein said data storing means is a non-volatile memory means.

6. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 4, wherein said modem passes through a telephone line, an RJ11 and an ISP in order to connect to the Internet.

7. The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 1, wherein said IPAC communicates with said server through an NxtView Hub on the Internet.

The remote control system based on the Internet as set forth in claim 7, wherein said server classifies the data inputted through a data parser and said IPAC into error data and normal data, and stores said error data and normal data into each different database, and transmits the normal data to the client'"'"'s homepage.

9. A method for remotely controlling various devices by using an NxtView IPAC (hereinafter, called a ‘

IPAC’

) and an NxtView server (hereinafter, called a ‘

server’

) on the Internet, wherein said method comprising;

a step for supplying power to the IPAC;

a step for initializing said power supplied IPAC;

a step for configuring said initialized system for a determined time;

s step for confirming whether said configured IPAC is directly connected to the clients or not;

a step for configuring the client'"'"'s PCs if directly connected;

a step for operating the IPAC through said configured client'"'"'s PCs;

a step for accessing of the clients to the server and initializing the IPAC through the Internet if not connected directly but connected through the Internet;

a step for determining a means for controlling the IPAC;

a step for manually changing over a switch to an operational mode if said determined means is a switch;

a step for operating the IPAC by said switch change-over;

a step for automatically operating the IPAC at a predetermined time interval if said determined means is an automatic control means in accordance with the time setting; and

a step for sending a call signal of an operator to the IPAC by using a telephone and for operating immediately of the IPAC receiving said sent call signal if said determined means is a telephone.

10. The remote control method as set forth in claim 9, wherein said method further comprises a step for transmitting data to the server by the IPAC through the Internet.

11. The remote control method as set forth in claim 10, wherein said transmitting step comprises:

a step for executing TCP/IP protocol by the IPAC;

a step for preparing to log in the server by using a PPP Negotiation through said executed protocol by the IPAC;

a step for uploading IPAC data files to the server by a TFTP protocol;

a step for reading the IPAC data files to the server by a TFTP protocol; and

a step for transmitting said uploaded and read data files to the IPAC server through the Internet.

The remote control method as set forth in claim 11, wherein said IPAC data files read through the TFTP protocol include an IPAC Part setting information, an IPAC answering call information, an IPAC data and clock setting information, an IPAC alarm time, an IPAC telephone number, an IPAC setting time interval, an ISP customer'"'"'s name, an ISP password and IPAC commands for peripherals.
