A system for treatment of whole blood, comprising a separation apparatus (10,2200), a treatment apparatus (18) and fluid conduits (1, 15, 17, 19), wherein a first conduit (1) is arranged to transport blood to the separation apparatus (10,2200), characterized in that the separation apparatus (10,2200) comprises a an ultrasound microchannel separator, comprising a plate with a number of channel units formed in a layer of said plate near a first surface, and an ultrasound source arranged in close contact to a second surface, opposing the first surface, devised to separate blood cells from blood plasma, wherein the blood cell rich component is transported from the separation apparatus (10,2200) via a second conduit (12) and in that the blood plasma rich component is transported to the treatment apparatus (18) via a third conduit (19), and in that the treatment apparatus (18) is capable of treating the blood plasma rich component.
