1. A web-based method to control access to a client-centric relational database in a computer via the Internet with the relational database containing records of named client accounts with the records stored in a multiple of different data categories each representative of a different type of information and including data functions representative of different transactional operations comprising the steps of:
- establishing an identity for a client authorized user to access the relational database via the Internet represented by an assigned ID and password under the control of the client or designated agent thereof;
establishing authorization records for each of the identified client authorized users which define the access and data function privileges for such authorized user in one or more named client accounts under the control of the client or designated agent thereof;
authenticating an authorized user when accessing the relational database via the Internet by the assigned ID and password; and
opening an account user interface in response to when said relational database is accessed by an authorized user with said account user interface being limited to the access and data function privileges defined in the authorization records for each such authorized user permitting the authorized user access to information in each of the named client accounts authorized by the client or the designated agent thereof and to perform the authorized data function operations in accordance with the privileges granted to such authorized user.
