1. A blood removal system, including:
- a housing;
a lancet drive connected to the housing including a spring, a cocking element, a rotatable rotor and a coupling mechanism, the cocking element being connected to one end of the spring and configured to rotate in a first direction in a cocking movement thereby tensioning the spring when rotor rotation is inhibited, and to resist rotation in a direction opposite the first direction during a drive phase of the lancet drive wherein rotor rotation is permitted and converted by the coupling mechanism into movement of a lancet in a puncturing direction such that a tip of the lancet exits an opening of the housing to produce a wound.

Abstract
Blood removal system for removing blood for diagnostic purposes including a housing, a lancet guide, and a lancet drive with a drive spring. The lancet drive comprises a cocking device, in order to tension the drive spring, a drive rotor that is driven by the drive spring, and an output-side coupling mechanism, by means of which the rotational movement of the drive rotor is converted into the puncturing movement.

45. A blood removal system, including:
-
a housing having an opening for receiving a tip of a lancet as the lancet moves in the housing along a predetermined puncture path;
a lancet guide configured to guide the lancet along the puncture path;
a lancet drive including a spring, a cocking device configured to tension the spring in a cocking phase of the lancet drive, a rotor rotatably driven by the spring about an axis in a drive direction, and an output-side coupling mechanism configured to covert the rotational movement of the rotor in a drive phase of the lancet drive into a puncture movement wherein the lancet is moved in a puncture direction until the lancet tip exits the opening to produce a wound;
wherein an end of the spring opposite the rotor is connected to a rotationally movable cocking element of the cocking device, the cocking element being rotatable for tensioning the spring in the drive direction when rotor rotation is inhibited, and non-rotatable in a direction opposite the drive direction during the drive phase so that when rotor rotation is permitted, the rotor performs a rotational movement which is converted by the output-side coupling mechanism into the puncture movement of the lancet.

46. A blood removal system, including:
-
means for driving a lancet along a puncturing axis such that a tip of the lancet produces a wound including rotor means for rotating about a first axis, spring means for driving the rotor means, means for tensioning the spring means, and means for converting the rotor means rotation into movement of the lancet along the puncturing axis; and
means for housing the driving means;
wherein the tensioning means is connected to the spring means and configured to rotate in a first direction in a cocking movement thereby tensioning the spring means when rotation of the rotor means is inhibited, and to resist rotation in a direction opposite the first direction during a drive phase of the driving means wherein rotation of the rotor means is permitted.
