Abstract

A computer-implemented method includes capturing service properties in one or more service process profiles, receiving a request for service, and interrogating the request and possible services by reviewing service properties captured in the service process profiles. A computer architecture includes a service manage profile and a service meter profile. A computer infrastructure includes a service component including a service-oriented architecture and a serviceware component including a manager for interpreting the service-oriented architecture.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method comprising the steps of:

capturing service properties in one or more service process profiles;

receiving a request for service; and

interrogating the request and possible services by reviewing service properties captured in the service process profiles.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein capturing service properties comprises automatically pre-populating the one or more service process profiles.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein capturing service properties comprises storing a disaster recovery snapshot.

4. The method of claim 3, further comprising restoring one or more services based on the disaster recovery snapshot.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein reviewing service properties comprises reviewing compliance with a service level agreement.

6. A computer architecture comprising:

a service manage profile; and

a service meter profile.

7. The computer architecture of claim 6, wherein the service manage profile comprises on or more of:

thresholds, resource/environment requirements, service level characteristics and autonomics.

8. The computer architecture of claim 6, wherein the service meter profile comprises knowledge for determining whether middleware should be utilized.

9. The computer architecture of claim 6, wherein the service meter profile comprises compliance with a service level agreement.

10. The computer architecture of claim 6, further comprising a service process profile.

11. The computer architecture of claim 10, wherein the service process profile comprises one or more of:

process flows, inputs, outputs, preconditions, effects, resource/environment requirements, and service interfaces.

12. The computer architecture of claim 6, further comprising a service adapt profile.

13. The computer architecture of claim 12, wherein the service adapt profile comprises one or more of:

context aware adaptations, client profile, preferences, and context.

14. A computer infrastructure comprising:

a service component including a service-oriented architecture; and

a serviceware component including a manager for interpreting the service-oriented architecture.

15. The computer infrastructure of claim 14, further comprising a middleware component including middleware of an enterprise.

16. The computer infrastructure of claim 15, further comprising edgeware of the enterprise.

17. The computer infrastructures of claim 14, further comprising a metadata component including knowledge captured in one or more service profiles.

18. The computer infrastructures of claim 14, further comprising a metadata component including one or more of:

a content models, a resource model, a service model, a process model, a business model, and a management model.

19. The computer infrastructure of claim 14, further comprising a process component for metering and managing service profiles.

20. The computer infrastructure of claim 14, further comprising one or more of:

a service creation platform, a service validation platform, a service distribution platform, a service discovery platform, a service execution platform, a service level agreement management platform, a service management platform, a device management platform, and a user interface modality platform.
