An injection device comprising a syringe (1) and an assembly for protecting said syringe comprising a tubular protective case (7) provided with finger rest components (23) designed for gripping said injection device with a view to injecting a dose of liquid, in particular a medicinal liquid, wherein said injection device has finger rest components consisting of a collar (23), provided with an upper surface and a lower surface, including two portions with a symmetrical outline (50, 51), called gripping portions, having lower supporting surfaces for the user'"'"'s fingers, and between said supporting surfaces, two portions with diametrically opposed symmetrical outlines (52, 53), called indexing portions, including in the extension of the lower surface of said collar, a lower surface having a convex profile formed by two slopes symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis.
