1. A network interface unit comprising a DSL modem.

2. A device comprising a controller for multiplexing multiple voice and data calls on a DSL modem using dynamic bandwidth allocation.

3. A network interface unit receiving auxiliary power.

4. Using a phone line to provide auxiliary power to a DSL modem.
