Abstract

A calculating device capable of displaying constants and the method thereof are proposed. A key determination unit is provided in a calculator to determine the function of the pressed key of an input unit. A constant unit database is provided for storing constant data. A constant execution unit is provided to read out the content of the constant unit database according to the determination result of the key determination unit. An output unit is also provided to display the value, unit, symbol and item number of a constant. During operation, a user can directly input the item number of a constant in a constant menu frame. Or after a user switches the page of the constant menu frame to find out a desired constant, he can then directly input the constant to display the value, unit, symbol and item number of the constant.

Claims

1. A calculating device capable of displaying constants, said calculating device operating in a calculator, performing input with an input unit and displaying the calculation result on an output unit, said calculating device comprising:

a key determination unit for determining the pressed key of said input unit;

a constant unit database used for storing constant data;

an arithmetic/logic unit; and

a constant execution unit electrically connected to said key determination unit and said constant unit database, said constant execution unit reading out the content of said constant unit database according to the determination result of said key determination unit, said arithmetic/logic unit then performing the required calculation.

2. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 1, wherein said input unit has an execution key for calling constants.

3. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 1, wherein said output unit is a liquid crystal display.

4. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 3, wherein said liquid crystal has two lines for display.

5. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 1, wherein said constant data include item numbers, values, units and symbols of constants in said calculator.

6. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 1, wherein said constants are physical constants or physical astronomical constants.

7. The calculating device capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 1 further comprising an I/O buffer, said I/O buffer being electrically connected between said input unit, said output unit, said key determination unit, said constant execution key and said arithmetic/logic unit.

8. A calculating method capable of displaying constants, comprising the steps of:

(a) displaying a constant menu frame;

(b) determining whether there is an item number of a constant directly inputted, jumping to a page in the constant menu frame corresponding to the item number if the answer is yes;

switching the page of said constant menu frame otherwise; and

(c) inputting data of said constant menu frame to display the content of said constant data.

9. The calculating method capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 8, wherein said data of said constant menu frame displays constant symbols.

10. The calculating method capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 9, wherein the current position of said constant symbols is marked by an underline.

11. The calculating method capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 8, wherein the content of said constant data is displayed with an upper and a lower line.

12. The calculating method capable of displaying constants as claimed in claim 8, wherein the content of said constant data includes a unit, a symbol, a value and an item number of said constant.

13. A recording medium recording a software procedure capable of displaying constants, said software procedure comprising:

a first procedure code for accepting an inputted key of an input unit;

a second procedure code for determining the function of said inputted key of said input unit;

a third procedure code for reading out the constant content of a constant unit database; and

a fourth procedure code for processing, outputting and displaying constants with a constant execution unit.
