- a server to store audio data recorded on multiple recording units and corresponding information associated with the respective audio data, the audio data recorded on each recording unit being identified by a unique identifier, the unique identifier being used to obtain and associate the corresponding information with the respective audio data; and
one or more clients coupled to the server via one or more power lines, the one or more clients to access the server via the one or more power lines to download audio data and the corresponding information associated with the audio data from the server.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a system is provided which includes a server and one or more clients that are connected to the server via one or more power lines. The server stores audio data recorded on multiple recording units (e.g., CDs) and corresponding information associated with the respective audio data (e.g., title, author, content list, etc.). The one or more clients access the server via the one or more power lines to download selected audio data and the corresponding information from the server.
