Abstract
Systems and methods for microbolometer focal plane arrays are disclosed. For example, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, microbolometer focal plane array circuitry is disclosed for a microbolometer array having shared contacts between adjacent microbolometers. Various techniques may be applied to compensate for non-uniformities, such as for example, to allow operation over a calibrated temperature range.

19. A method of providing calibrated output signals from a microbolometer focal plane array having shared contacts, the method comprising:

selecting at least one row of the microbolometer focal plane array to provide corresponding output signals from microbolometers in the row;
providing a trim resistor value to provide temperature compensation for at least one microbolometer in the row; and

27. A microbolometer focal plane array comprising:

a plurality of microbolometers forming a microbolometer array, wherein contacts within the microbolometer array are shared by the microbolometers;
a first plurality of switches adapted to provide a reference signal to respective ones of the plurality of microbolometers; and
a second plurality of switches adapted to receive an output signal from respective ones of the plurality of microbolometers, wherein the first and second plurality of switches are initially asserted and deasserted, respectively, with one of the switches from the first plurality deasserted prior to one of the switches from the second plurality being asserted which couple to the same contact, with this switching pattern repeated for the first and second plurality of switches until the second plurality of switches are all asserted. - View Dependent Claims (28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37)
