Abstract

The cover lens and the back panel of a rear lamp set are molded to form chambers of predetermined sizes to accommodate safety sensors therein, so that the safety sensors and the rear lamp sets are integrally assembled to a vehicle without spoiling the esthetic appearance of the tail portion of the vehicle. The built in safety sensors, such as cameras, distance detecting devices and sonar sets, help a driver to understand conditions around the tail portion of the vehicle.

Claims

1. A rear lamp set with built in safety sensors comprising a rear lamp set and safety sensors;

said rear lamp set including a plurality of lamps, such as a tail lamp, a stop and tail lamp, a turn signal lamp, a back up lamp, a fog lamp, etc., to provide different indicating and warning functions;

said rear lamp set being classified into a one-unit type and a two-unit type;

said rear lamp set with built in safety sensors being installed to a vehicle as a part, including a first back panel on which first light-emitting devices mounted, a first cover lens, a full set of wires and connectors connecting electrically said rear lamp set with built in safety sensors to the power source of the vehicle, chambers of predetermined sizes formed on said first cover lens and said first back panel to accommodate the main body of said safety sensors therein, and enabling said safety sensors and said rear lamp sets to be integrally installed to the vehicle at one time.

2. The rear lamp set with built in safety sensors as claimed in claim 1, wherein said safety sensors are either cameras (vision sensors) or distance detecting devices (range finders), or both.

3. The rear lamp set with built in safety sensors as claimed in claim 1, wherein said safety sensors include a set of connectors and wires electrically connected to said back up lamp of said rear lamp set, such that said safety sensors are activated by said back up lamp.

The rear lamp set with built in safety sensors as claimed in claim 1, wherein said rear lamp set further includes a high mount stop lamp set mounted on the rear windshield or the trunk lid of a vehicle thereof, said high mount stop lamp set includes a second back panel on which second light-emitting devices mounted, a second cover lens, a full set of connectors and wires, and chambers of predetermined sizes formed on said second back panel and said second cover lens to accommodate the main bodies of safety sensors therein.

5. The rear lamp set with built in safety sensors as claimed in claim 4, wherein said safety sensors accommodated in said high mount stop lamp set are either cameras (vision sensors) or distance detecting devices (range finders), or both.
