Abstract

In a particular embodiment, the disclosure is directed to an interface for federated access to customer data. The interface includes an application service. The application service has access to customer data through an integration service object. The integration service object represents data associated with a plurality of resource systems. In another embodiment, the disclosure is directed to a distributed computer system for providing a common customer interface. The distributed computer system includes an application service, an integration service, and a plurality of distributed resource systems. The application service provides the common customer interface. The integration service is coupled to the application service and includes an object. The plurality of distributed resource systems are coupled to the integration service. The application service requests data associated with the common customer interface from the integration service. The object represents data associated with the plurality of distributed resource systems.

Claims

1. An interface for federated access to customer data, the interface comprising:

an application service having access to customer data through an integration service object, the integration service object representing resource data associated with a plurality of distributed resource systems supporting telecommunications elements.

2. The interface of claim 1, wherein the application service provides a bill.

3. The interface of claim 1, wherein the application service provides access to service transactions.

4. The interface of claim 1, wherein the application service provides assurance access.

5. The interface of claim 1, wherein the application service provides fulfillment access.

6. The interface of claim 1, wherein the customer data comprises telephony usage data.

7. The interface of claim 1, wherein the customer data comprises subscriber information.

8. The interface of claim 1, wherein the customer data comprises service request data.

9. The interface of claim 1, wherein the plurality of distributed resource systems comprises one or more PREMIS systems.

10. The interface of claim 1, wherein at least one of the plurality of distributed resource systems comprises an ASON system.

11. The interface of claim 1, wherein the plurality of distributed resource systems comprises one or more TIRKS®

systems.

12. A distributed computer system for providing a common customer interface, the distributed computer system comprising:

an application service for providing the common customer interface via an access point;

an integration service coupled to the application service, the integration service comprising an object;

a plurality of distributed resource systems accessible to the integration service; and

the application service configured to request data associated with the common customer interface from the integration service, the object representing data associated with the plurality of distributed resource systems.

13. The distributed computer system of claim 12, wherein at least one of the plurality of distributed resource systems are associated with communication service usage.

14. The distributed computer system of claim 12, wherein the common customer interface is used to generate an aggregate bill associated with more than one communication service.

15. The distributed computer system of claim 12, wherein the application service provides assurance access.

16. The distributed computer system of claim 12, wherein the application service provides fulfillment access.

17. The distributed computer system of claim 12, wherein the application service provides billing access.

18. A method for providing a common customer interface, the method comprising:

requesting a view associated with the common customer interface;

instantiating an object associated with a plurality of communication services;

initiating a transaction on a remote resource system associated with one of the plurality of communication services; and

translating a result of the transaction into data accessible to the object.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein the resource system is associated with communication service usage.

20. The method of claim 18 further comprises the common customer interface to generate an aggregate bill associated with more than one communication service.

21. An interface to a customer, the customer having access to a plurality of services, the interface comprising:

an aggregate representation of a first data element and a second data element, the first data element associated with a first telecommunication related service, the second data element associated with a second telecommunication related service, the first data element and the second data element accessible through an integration service comprising at least one instantiated object, the at least one instantiated object having access to a plurality of resource systems to acquire the first data element and second data element from the plurality of resource systems.

22. The interface of claim 21, wherein the aggregate representation is a billing statement.

23. The interface of claim 21, wherein the aggregate representation is a service status statement.

24. The interface of claim 21, wherein the plurality of resource systems comprises at least one PREMIS system.

25. The interface of claim 21, wherein at least one of the plurality of resource systems comprises an ASON system.

26. The interface of claim 21, wherein the plurality of resource systems comprises at least one TIRKS®

system.
