Method and system for managing a network
First Claim
1. Method of managing a network, the network having first and second network manager devices, the method comprising:
- independently managing a first operation using a first logic of the first network manager device, including managing a first portion of a database;
independently managing a second operation using a second logic of the second network manager device, including managing a second portion of the database; and
communicating information between the first network manager device and the second network manager device using a peer-to-peer interface for sending and receiving queries.

Abstract
In an exemplary method, a network having first and second network manager devices is managed by independently managing a first operation using a first logic of the first network manager device, including managing a first portion of a database, and by independently managing a second operation using a second logic of the second network manager device, including managing a second portion of the database. A peer-to-peer interface can communicate information between the first and second network manager devices. In an exemplary embodiment, a system for managing a network includes a plurality of network manager devices, each device including a logic for managing a different operation, a database, and a peer-to-peer interface for sending queries to a different network manager device in the plurality and receiving queries from the different network manager device in the plurality.
