Abstract

The invention concerns a band not provided with a dilatable portion, characterized in that it comprises different successive separate zones (A, B, C) formed on its entire developed length, while forming a single-piece and single-unit assembly, and its two ends (1a), (1b) are specifically configured to form flexible nesting and position-locking male-female parts by defining a first head zone (A) and a second rear and anchoring zone (B) forming a main tip and integrated into each other, and between said two zones, the ring comprises a third intermediate connecting zone (C) with solid cross-section over the main part of its length, designed to be more specifically pressed on the part of the stomach to be enclosed.

Claims

1. Gastric band not provided with a dilatable part, made of an elastomeric, particularly siliconed material, presenting a flexibility of deformability and comprising different successive separate zones formed on its entire developed length, while forming a single-piece and single-unit assembly, these zones including two end zones (A, B) shaped specifically to constitute flexible nesting and position-locking male-female parts and, between these two zones, an intermediate connecting zone (C) of solid cross-section over the main part of its length, designed to be more specifically in simple abutment on the part of the stomach to be encircled, characterized in that said two end zones define, on the one hand, a first head zone (A) provided with a curved profiled tab (2) and, on the other hand, a second rear end anchoring zone (B) forming main tip (4), said zones (A, B) being adapted to integrate into each other, by introduction of the tip (4) of the anchoring zone (B) in an opening (3) defined between two lateral walls (2a) connecting said tab (2) to said intermediate zone (C).

Band according to claim 1, characterized in that, over a part of the intermediate connecting zone (C), the band presents projecting shapes (1b) allowing the contact in punctual pressure on the stomach part opposite with an anti-slide effect, and in that there is provided in this part the formation of two cavities (1d) in the thickness of the band allowing the threading of complementary fixation strands (L) intended to position the band with respect to its environment and avoid tipping thereof.

3. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that the outer part (E) of the intermediate zone (C) of the band (1) is substantially convex over the whole of its length and in a transverse plane.

4. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that it presents a memory of shape in order to return it substantially in position of collar before closure.

Band according to claim 1, characterized in that said main tab (2) presents in extension walls for connection with two parallel projections (2a) defining a channel (3) for passage of the second tip shaped end (4), and in that the main tab presents stop faces, said tab end of the band presenting a secondary tip shape, of triangular aspect with a visible flat face (2).

6. Band according to claim 5, characterized in that the perforated tab presents a transverse opening (2b) for the passage of a draw loop (5).

Band according to claim 6 characterized in that the other rear end (4) of the band presents a main tip shape having a profile of dimensions corresponding to those of the tip shape established on the front tab and in that, at the rear of said tip shape of the anchoring part, there are formed two opposite profiled grooves (4a) of which the depth corresponds to the thickness of the projections (2a) established on the main tab.

8. Band according to claim 7, characterized in that the end of the main tip shape presents an opening (4b) for the passage of a ligature or draw loop.

9. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that the inner face (D) of the band presents on the head (A) side a profile (1c) in extension of the head oriented thereopposite, so as to constitute a plane for abutment (1e) and of reliability of the band part adjacent said grooves (4a).

10. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that, before closure and when no outside effort is exerted on the band, said head zone (A) and anchoring zone (B) extend in two directions (Δ

11. Band according to claim 10, characterized in that, in closed configuration of said band, its inner face (D) is substantially circular.

12. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that said head zone (A) and said main tip (4) are each provided with an opening (2b, 4b) for passage of a ligature or of a draw loop (5), said openings lying opposite each other in closed configuration of said band (1).

13. Band according to claim 1, characterized in that, when it is closed, said tab (2) and said tip (4) together form a part (S) projecting with respect to said intermediate zone (C).

14. Band according to claim 13, characterized in that, when it is closed, said tab (2) and said tip (4) are substantially parallel and in abutment against each other.

15. Band according to claim 13, characterized in that said tab (2) extends in a plane substantially perpendicular to the principal direction of said intermediate zone (C) when the ring is arranged flat.
