Abstract

A print order reception system for receiving an order for print services is provided with a recording medium reception port for receiving a recording medium on which image data of pictures and print order information including printing conditions for pictures to be printed are recorded in the form of electronic data in a predetermined format. A display system reads out from the recording medium received in the recording medium reception port the image data on the pictures to be printed and the print order information on the pictures to be printed and displays the image data and the print order information as an image.

14. A print system wherein a plurality of photofinishing systems exist and at least some of said photofinishing system have varied printing parameters, which the photofinishing system is capable of performing, and a print order reception unit associated with a selected photofinishing system, the print order reception system containing a record of the print parameters related to the print parameters of the selected photofinishing system, said print system comprising:

a software system allowing a user to select a printing condition for image data and save the image data and print conditions on a removable recording medium;

a user selected photofinishing system; and

a print order reception unit associated with the user selected photofinishing system and allowing the user to confirm that the user selected photofinishing system may process image data according to user selected print conditions and allowing the user to make a print order for the user selected photofinishing system,

wherein the print order reception unit includes a processor comparing the user selected print conditions with the acceptable print parameters of the user selected photofinishing system and a display notifying the user as to whether or not the user selected print conditions are within the print parameters of the predetermined photofinishing system, and

wherein if the user selected print conditions are not within the print parameters of the user selected photofinishing system, the user via the display is permitted to select a second processing condition that is within the acceptable parameters of the user selected photofinishing system.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the print order reception unit, further comprises:

a storage unit which contains the acceptable print parameters of the user selected photofinishing system.

16. The print order reception system as defined in claim 15, wherein the printing services include reprinting, printing postcards and printing calendars.

17. The print order reception system as defined in claim 16, wherein the acceptable print conditions include print sizes, type of illustration or characters to be combined with the pictures, and luster.

18. The print order reception system as defined in claim 14, wherein the user selected print conditions include print sizes, type of illustration or characters to be combined with the pictures, and luster.

19. The print order reception system as defined in claim 14, wherein the print order reception system is located at the user selected photofinishing system.
