Abstract

Disclosed is a system and method of data transmission/reception in which picture signals are encoded into image data, the attribute information of the image data is obtained, meta data are generated from the attribute information of the image data. The image data and the meta data are transmitted separately. With this system and method of data transmission/reception, when predetermined conditions are satisfied, i.e. only when a moving body is detected or abnormal data or data including significant information are detected, image data and meta data are transmitted. Therefore, since not all the data are transmitted, the amount of transmitted data is reduced. As a result, the amount of data accumulated in data recipient can be reduced and the load of data analysis operation can be alleviated. In addition, the burden on an operator visually monitoring image data can be eased. Furthermore, inadvertent failure in checking abnormal data or data including significant information can be prevented.

Claims

1. A data transmitting-terminal for transmitting data made of encoded picture signals comprising:

an image processor for encoding externally supplied picture signals into one of static image data and motion image data and for generating attribute information of the image data including information acquired through an arbitrary image analysis;

a meta data processor for generating meta data from the attribute information of the image data supplied from said image processor; and

a communication unit for transmitting the image data supplied from said image processor and the meta data supplied from said meta data processor.

2. The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 1, wherein said meta data processor generates meta data including information linked to the image data.

The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 2, wherein said image processor determines presence of significant information in the attribute information of the image data, and said communication unit transmits the image data only when said significant information being included in the attribute information of the image data.

4. The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 3, wherein said arbitrary image analysis is detection of a moving body, and said image processor determines presence of significant information when the moving body is detected.

The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 3, further comprising a data memory for temporarily accumulating data to be transmitted, wherein said data memory accumulates the image data and the meta data only when said significant information being included in the attribute information of the image data, and said communication unit transmits the data accumulated in said data memory with communication system without occurring data lack.

6. The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 3, wherein said communication unit sends requiring message for asking data transmission to a data receiver, and transmits said image data and said meta data only when a response message for allowing data transmission is received.

7. The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 6, wherein said communication units sends requiring message for asking data transmission including said meta data to a data receiver, and transmits said image data only when a response message for allowing data transmission is received.

8. The data transmitting-terminal as set forth in claim 7, wherein further comprising a data processor for analyzing data that have been measured using at least one arbitrary sensor, wherein said meta data processor generates the meta data including analyzed data supplied from said data processor.

9. A data receiving-server for receiving transmitted data and storing received data comprising:

a communication unit for receiving image data and meta data thereof,

a database for storing the received image data and the meta data,

a meta data analyzer for analyzing the meta data and detecting attribute information included in the meta data, and

a data display for displaying the image data corresponding to the meta data only when said attribute information is detected.

10. The data receiving-server as set forth in claim 9, wherein said meta data includes information linked to the image data, and said data display determines the image data to be displayed by referring said information linked to the image data.

11. The data receiving-server as set forth in claim 10, wherein said data display displays said meta data corresponding to the image data to be displayed with converted form readable by an observer.

12. The data receiving-server as set forth in claim 10, wherein said communication unit receives the image data and the meta data with communication system without occurring data lack.

13. The data receiving-server as set forth in claim 10, wherein said communication unit receives requiring message for asking data transmission from a data-transmitting terminal, and transmits a first response message for allowing data transmission when data reception is possible, and a second response message for refusing data transmission when data reception is impossible to the data-transmitting terminal, and receives said image data and meta data transmitted from said data-transmitting terminal when said first response message is transmitted.

The data receiving-server as set forth in claim 13, wherein said communication unit receives requiring message for asking data transmission including said meta data from a data-transmitting terminal, and determining data transmission possibility with analyzed results of said meta data obtained by said meta data analyzer, and transmits a first response message for allowing data transmission when data reception is possible, and a second response message for refusing data transmission when data reception is impossible to the data-transmitting terminal, and transmits said image data only when said first response message is received.
