Abstract

A system which enables a plurality of wireless interface devices to be interfaced with a server. The server is configured to communicate with a plurality of wireless interface devices over a radio link. The server may be connected to wither a wired or wireless local area network (LAN).

A system, for providing remote access to a server over a radio link, the system comprising;

a plurality of wireless interface devices, each wireless interface device including a display, input system and a radio communication system for interfacing with a server by way of radio link;

a server configured to enable said plurality of wireless interface devices to provide for input/output (I/O) for said server apart from any other devices connected to said server; and

means for enabling communication between said plurality of wireless interface devices and said server by way of said radio link wherein said enabling means include a wireless LAN adapter.

A computer system comprising;

a local area network (LAN) having one or more servers connected thereto;

an access point connected to said LAN, said access point including means for enabling interfacing of said LAN with a plurality remote interface devices by way of a radio link; and

a plurality of wireless interface devices, each of said wireless interface devices including means for communicating with said access point by way of a radio link.

The computer system as recited in claim 6, wherein said LAN is a wired LAN.

The computer system as recited in claim 6, wherein said LAN is a wireless LAN.

The computer system as recited in claim 6, wherein said access point includes a wireless LAN adapter.

The computer system as recited in claim 6, further including a second LAN and a router said router, connecting said LAN and said second LAN.

In a computer system including a local area network (LAN) having at least one server, a system for enabling multiple wireless interface devices to communicate with said LAN;

the system comprising;

a plurality of wireless interface devices, each wireless interface device including means for communicating with said LAN; and

an access point connected to said LAN including means for enabling communication between said LAN and said plurality of wireless interface devices by way of a radio link.

The system as recited in claim 11, wherein said access point includes a wireless LAN adapter.
