Abstract
A system and method for the efficient distribution of travel inventory, and more specifically the efficient distribution of hotel rooms is provided. The system comprises a distribution system which organizes users (i.e., clients) into tiers. Each tier contains at least one user, and each tier is assigned a maximum allotment of travel inventory in each inventory category. The system further comprises a management engine which monitors the maximum travel inventory allotments for each tier, monitors a total inventory available for each inventory category, determines if a reservation is allowed, and automatically updates total inventory available after each allowed reservation.
