A sensor comprising a polymer layer, said polymer layer comprising recognizing and transducer properties, wherein said recognizing properties are provided by a recognizing component, said transducer properties are provided by a transducer, and said recognizing component and said transducer are contained in one or more nanoparticles, said nanoparticles embedded in said polymer layer.

Abstract
The present invention concerns a polymer layer for a sensor, wherein the polymer layer has nanoparticles embedded therein which impart to the polymer layer recognizing properties as well as transducer properties, a sensor comprising such layer and the use of the sensor for detecting and/or quantifying a target analyte.

27. A process for producing a sensor comprising:

providing a light-transmissive substrate;
depositing a polymer layer on said substrate, wherein said polymer layer comprises recognizing and transducer properties, said recognizing properties are provided by a recognizing component, said transducer properties are provided by a transducer, and said recognizing component and said transducer are contained in one or more nanoparticles, said nanoparticles embedded in said polymer layer; and
