Abstract

A computer system includes a composition enabler configured to enforce an execution policy associated with a responder in response to a request from a requestor, configured to send the request to the responder, and configured to compose a response with a function from the group: a function that must be executed before the request reaches the responder, a function that must be executed after a response from the responder.

Claims

1. A computer system comprises:

a composition enabler configured to enforce an execution policy associated with a responder in response to a request from a requester, configured to send the request to the responder, and configured to compose a response with a function from the group;

a function that must be executed before the request reaches the responder, a function that must be executed after a response from the responder.

2. The computer system of claim 1 where the request includes a function of the requester.

3. The computer system of claim 1 where computer system is registered for discovery with discovery data.

6. The computer system of claim 1 wherein the requester may be prompted for additional data required by the composition enabler.

4. The computer system 3 wherein the discovery data includes an interface description and an address.

5. The computer system of claim 4 wherein the discovery data includes meta-data that qualifies how the responder should address the composition enabler.

7. The computer system of claim 4 wherein the discovery data includes data that qualifies how the responder should address the composition enabler.

8. A method for a computer system comprises:

receiving a request for a first service from a requestor;

determining an enabler policy associated with the first service, wherein the enabler policy specifies a plurality of services, a plurality of respective service enablers, and a service order;

composing a plurality of service requests for the plurality of service enablers in response to the plurality of services and the plurality of respective service enablers specified; and

providing the plurality of service requests, a specification of the plurality of respective service enablers and the service order to the requestor.

9. The method of claim 8 wherein before receiving the request for the first service, the method comprises:

receiving a request for discover services from the requester; and

providing a specification of the first service to the requestor.

10. The method of claim 8

wherein the plurality of service requests comprises a first set of composed service requests and a composed first service request;

and

wherein the first set of composed service requests are requested before the composed first service request in the service order.

11. The method of claim 10

wherein the plurality of service requests also comprises a second set of composed service requests;

and

wherein the second set of composed service requests are requested after the composed first service request in the service order.

12. The method of claim 10 wherein the first set of composed service requests comprise service requests selected from the group:

authentication services, authorization services, accounting services, integrity validation services, certification services, personalization services, service discovery services.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein the first set of composed service requests further comprise service requests selected from the group:

session management services, user services, encryption services, decryption services

14. The method of claim 11 wherein the second set of composed service requests comprise service requests selected from the group:

optimization services, routing services, composition services, coordination services, aggregation services

15. A computer system comprises:

.

a requestor configured to send a request for a service to a discovery service, and configured to select a target enabler for the service;

the discovery service configured to redirect the selection from the requestor of the target enabler to the a composing enabler;

the composing enabler configured to receive a policy from a target enabler associated with the target enabler, wherein the composing enabler is also configured to compose a service request to a service that must be performed before a request to the target enabler is provided, and configured to provide the composed service request to the requestor.

16. The computer system of claim 15 wherein requestor can determine how to formulate the request to the composed enabler to use the target enabler

17. The computer system of claim 15 wherein the policy may be passed from the target enabler to the composing enabler via a side channel

18. The computer system of claim 15 wherein the discovery service provides interface description and address of the composing enabler.

19. The computer system of claim 15 wherein the composing enabler and the requestor may be in a common or different domains

20. The computer system of claim 15 wherein the requestor is also configured to populate the service request based upon an agreement.
