Abstract

A system for providing telecommunications equipment information and customer information that includes a display and a processor. The display displays a graphical user interface that allows a user to access the equipment information and the customer information. The graphical user interface includes at least one input area that allows a user to input search criteria, related to at least one of equipment data and customer data, to initiate a search. The graphical user interface also includes at least one results area that displays a result of the search, the result including at least one of the equipment information and the customer information related to the search criteria. The processor implements the search for at least one of the equipment information and the customer information in response to the input search criteria.

Claims

1. A system for providing telecommunications equipment information and customer information comprising:

a display that displays a graphical user interface that allows a user to access the equipment information and the customer information, the graphical user interface having at least one input area that allows a user to input search criteria, related to at least one of equipment data and customer data, to initiate a search; and

at least one results area that displays a result of the search, the result comprising at least one of the equipment information and the customer information related to the search criteria; and

a processor that implements the search for at least one of the equipment information and the customer information in response to the input search criteria.

2. The system according to claim 1 further comprising:

a database that stores the equipment information and the customer information,

wherein the processor retrieves the equipment information and the customer information from the database.

3. The system according to claim 2 wherein the database comprises:

a network and services database; and

a data propagator that acts as an intermediary between the network and services database and the processor.

4. The system according to claim 1, wherein the graphical user interface displays a plurality of equipment types and allows the user to select one of the equipment types and to search for the equipment information and the customer information based on the selected equipment type.

5. The system according to claim 4, wherein one of the equipment types includes SONET equipment, the graphical user interface displaying SONET equipment information as the result when the user has input SONET equipment data as the search criteria.

6. The system according to claim 4, wherein one of the equipment types includes circuit equipment, the graphical user interface displaying circuit equipment information as the result when the user has input circuit equipment data as the search criteria.

7. The system according to claim 1, wherein when the user enters customer data as the search criteria, the graphical user interface displays customer information as the result.

8. A system that provides equipment information and customer information for a telecommunications network comprising:

a terminal that displays a graphical user interface that allows a user to access the equipment information and the customer information;

the graphical user interface comprising;

at least one input area that allows a user to input search criteria, related to at least one of equipment data and customer data, to initiate a search; and

at least one results area that displays a result of the search the result comprising at least one of equipment information and customer information related to the search criteria.

9. The system according to claim 8 further comprising:

a database that stores the equipment information and the customer information; and

a processor that retrieves the equipment information and the customer information from the database.

10. The system according to claim 9 wherein the database comprises:

a network and services database; and

a data propagator that acts as an intermediary between the network and services database and the processor.

11. The system according to claim 8, wherein the graphical user interface displays a plurality of equipment types and allows the user to select one of the equipment types and to search for the equipment information and the customer information based on the selected equipment type.

12. The system according to claim 11, wherein one of the equipment types includes SONET equipment, the graphical user interface displaying SONET equipment information as the result when the user has input SONET equipment data as the search criteria.

13. The system according to claim 11, wherein one of the equipment types includes circuit equipment, the graphical user interface displaying circuit equipment information as the result when the user has input circuit equipment data as the search criteria.

14. The system according to claim 8, wherein when the user enters customer data as the search criteria, the graphical user interface displays customer information as the result.

15. A system that provides telecommunications equipment information and telecommunications customer information comprising:

a display that displays a graphical user interface that allows a user to access the telecommunications equipment information and the telecommunications customer information; and

a processor that retrieves the telecommunications equipment information and the telecommunications customer information,

wherein the graphical user interface includes at least one input area that allows a user to input search criteria, related to at least one of telecommunications equipment data and telecommunications customer data, to initiate a search; and

at least one results area that displays a result of the search the result comprising at least one of the telecommunications equipment information and the telecommunications customer information related to the search criteria.

16. The system according to claim 15 further comprising:

a database that stores the telecommunications equipment information and the telecommunications customer information.

17. The system according to claim 16 wherein the database comprises:

a network and services database; and

a data propagator that acts as an intermediary between the network and services database and the processor.

18. The system according to claim 15, wherein the graphical user interface displays a plurality of equipment types and allows the user to select one of the equipment types and to search for the telecommunications equipment information and the telecommunications customer information based on the selected equipment type.

19. The system according to claim 18, wherein one of the equipment types includes SONET equipment, the graphical user interface displaying SONET equipment information as the result when the user has input SONET equipment data as the search criteria.

20. The system according to claim 18, wherein one of the equipment types includes circuit equipment, the graphical user interface displaying circuit equipment information as the result when the user has input circuit equipment data as the search criteria.
