Abstract

In an electric conference system using a large-screen display, presentation in an environment with a plurality of portable terminals connected is not taken into consideration. To do this, a host computer for an electric conference system is arranged to store a member ID to specify a terminal, generate a password, display the generated password on a large-screen display and make the password open to participants of a conference, authenticate the terminal on the basis of a member ID and a password, which are contained in a connection request received from the terminal, and process a command received from the terminal on the basis of the authentication result.

Claims

1. An electric conference system comprising:

a generator, arranged to generate a password;

a display controller, arranged to display the generated password on a display and make the password open to participants of a conference;

an authentication section, arranged to authenticate based on a password, which is contained in a connection request received from a terminal; and

a processor, arranged to process a command received from the terminal on the basis of an authentication result from said authentication section.

2. The system according to claim 1, further comprising a memory arranged to store a member ID to specify a terminal,

wherein said authentication section authenticates the terminal based on the member ID and the password, which are contained in the connection request received from the terminal.

3. The system according to claim 1, further comprising a communication section arranged to execute radio communication-with a portable terminal.

4. The system according to claim 2, wherein said authentication section stores a status corresponding to the member ID in said memory, and said processor determines on the basis of the status whether the received command is processible.

5. The system according to claim 1, wherein said processor controls said display controller so as to update display on the display in accordance with a drawing command contained in the received command.

6. The system according to claim 1, wherein the display is a large-screen display for conference.

7. A method of controlling an electric conference system, the method comprising the steps of:

generating a password;

displaying the generated password on a display and make the password open to participants of a conference;

authenticating based on a password, which are contained in a connection request received from a terminal; and

processing a command received from the terminal on the basis of an authentication result.

8. A computer program for a method of controlling an electric conference system, the method comprising the steps of:

generating a password;

displaying the generated password on a display and make the password open to participants of a conference;

authenticating based on a password, which is contained in a connection request received from a terminal; and

processing a command received from the terminal on the basis of an authentication result.

9. A computer program product stored in a computer readable medium comprising computer program code, for a method of controlling an electric conference system, the method comprising the steps of:

generating a password;

displaying the generated password on a display and make the password open to participants of a conference;

authenticating based on a password, which is contained in a connection request received from a terminal; and

processing a command received from the terminal on the basis of an authentication result.
