Abstract

A method, article of manufacture, and apparatus for archiving auditory communications is disclosed. In an embodiment, this comprises receiving an auditory communication with keywords identified in the communication, storing the communication on a storage device, and associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by at least one of the identified keywords.

Claims

1. A method of archiving an auditory communication having associated identified keywords, comprising:

storing the communication on a first storage device; and

associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by at least one of the identified keywords.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising associating the stored communication with data indicating the identified keywords.

3. The method as recited in claim 2, further comprising associating the stored communication with metadata indicating call transport information for the auditory communication.

4. The method as recited in claim 3, further comprising associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by the metadata.

5. The method as recited in claim 4, further comprising storing on a second storage device at least one of the group comprising:

data indicating the at least one policy invoked by at least one identified keyword;

data indicating the identified keywords;

metadata; and

data indicating at least one policy invoked by the metadata.

6. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising associating the stored communication with a link to an auditory representation in the stored communication corresponding to one of the identified keywords.

7. A method of archiving an auditory communication including identified keywords, comprising:

storing the communication on a first storage device; and

associating the stored communication with data indicating frequency of occurrence of the identified keywords in the auditory communication.

8. The method as recited in claim 7, further comprising associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by at least one of the identified keywords.

9. The method as recited in claim 7, further comprising associating the stored communication with data indicating frequency of invocation of the at least one policy.

10. A system for archiving an auditory communication including identified keywords, comprising a first storage device and configured to:

store the communication on the first storage device; and

associate the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by at least one of the identified keywords.

11. The system as recited in claim 10, further configured to associate the stored communication with data indicating the identified keywords.

12. The system as recited in claim 11, further configured to associate the stored communication with metadata indicating call transport information for the auditory communication.

13. The system as recited in claim 12, further configured to associate the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by the metadata.

14. A computer program product for archiving an auditory communication including identified keywords, comprising a computer usable medium having machine readable code embodied therein for:

storing the communication on a first storage device; and

associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by at least one of the identified keywords.

15. The computer program product as recited in claim 14, further comprising code for associating the stored communication with data indicating the identified keywords.

16. The computer program product as recited in claim 15, further comprising code for associating the stored communication with metadata indicating call transport information for the auditory communication.

17. The computer program product as recited in claim 16, further comprising code for associating the stored communication with data indicating at least one policy invoked by the metadata.
