Abstract

A stand mixer is provided with wheels proximate the base. The base houses a mixing bowl capable of being placed into a locked position. When the mixing bowl is in the locked position, its handle faces outward. The mixer can be lifted with the handle to transfer the weight of the stand mixer from the feet to the wheels. The stand mixer can then be moved into a desired position.

Claims

1. A stand mixer comprising:

a body including a base with attachment means capable of receiving a bowl with a handle;

at least one wheel positioned on a lower portion of the base; and

,

wherein the handle can be lifted to engage the at least one wheel for movement of the stand mixer.

2. The stand mixer of claim 1, wherein the bowl can be placed in a locked position.

3. The stand mixer of claim 1, wherein the body further comprises a head portion.

4. The stand mixer of claim 3, wherein the head portion includes an accessory port capable of receiving an accessory.

5. The stand mixer of claim 3, wherein the head portion includes at least one attachment outlet capable of receiving an accessory.

6. The stand mixer of claim 3, wherein the head portion is capable of being pivoted about a pivot mechanism.

7. The stand mixer of claim 1, wherein the body further comprises a central housing portion.

8. The stand mixer of claim 7, wherein the central housing portion houses a motor.

9. The stand mixer of claim 1, wherein the base includes at least one foot.

10. The stand mixer of claim 9, wherein the at least one foot extends further from the base than the at least one wheel.

11. The stand mixer of claim 9, wherein when the stand mixer rests fully on the at least one foot, the at least one wheel is not engaged.

12. The stand mixer of claim 9, wherein when the base is fully in contact with a surface, the at least one wheel is not in contact with the surface.

13. The stand mixer of claim 1, further comprising two wheels that project slightly from a rear portion of the base.

14. A method of moving a stand mixer, wherein the stand mixer includes a body with a base, attachment means capable of receiving a bowl with a handle, at least one wheel positioned on a lower portion of the base, and wherein the handle can be lifted to engage the at least one wheel for movement of the stand mixer, the method comprising:

locking the bowl into the base;

lifting the handle to engage the at least one wheel.

15. The method of moving a stand mixer of claim 14, wherein the base includes at least one foot that is disengaged when the handle is lifted.

16. The method of moving a stand mixer of claim 14, further comprising:

maneuvering the stand mixer into a desired position.

17. The method of moving a stand mixer of claim 16, further comprising:

disengaging the at least one wheel by lowering the handle until the stand mixer rests fully upon the base.

18. The method of moving a stand mixer of claim 14, wherein when the base is fully in contact with a surface, the at least one wheel is not in contact with the surface.

19. A stand mixer comprising:

a body including a base with attachment means capable of receiving a bowl with a handle;

at least one foot and at least one wheel positioned on a lower portion of the base;

wherein when the at least one foot is fully in contact with a surface, the at least one wheel is not in contact with the surface;

wherein the handle can be lifted to engage the at least one wheel for movement of the stand mixer on the surface.

20. The stand mixer of claim 19, wherein the bowl can be placed in a locked position.
