Abstract
An application development supporting apparatus and method that make it possible to generate a GUI application, freely altering the settings for graphical representation corresponding to devices, are provided. A configuration in which the logical part and the graphics representation part of each component set in a graphical user interface (GUI) are configured separately, and a GUI component is generated based on the logical part and the graphics representation part is adopted. Through the present configuration, it becomes possible to easily construct a GUI adapted to a device by sharing the logical part among various devices, and selecting different graphics representation parts, in which various representation modes are set, depending on the device.

A GUI application development supporting apparatus that supports the development of a GUI application that has settings information of a function and display mode of a component that constitutes a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI application development supporting apparatus characterized in that it comprises:

a data input section;
a logical component storage section that stores a logical component in which a program related to the function of the component is stored;
a graphics representation component storage section that stores a graphics representation component in which a program related to graphics representation of the component is stored;
an edit processing section that generates a GUI component by combining the logical component extracted from said logical component storage section and the graphics representation component extracted from said graphics representation component storage section;
said graphics representation component storage section comprises a plurality of graphics representation component storage sections in which a plurality of different graphics representation process execution programs are stored;
a paint process execution program is stored in a graphics representation component stored in at least one or more graphics representation component storage sections;
further, an animation execution program is stored in a graphics representation component stored in at least one or more graphics representation component storage sections; and
said edit processing section is of a configuration where a process in which one graphics representation component storage section is selected from said plurality of graphics representation component storage sections in accordance with input information input in said data input section, and the graphics representation component is extracted from the selected storage section. - View Dependent Claims (10)

11. A GUI application program generating method that generates a GUI application that has settings information of a function and display mode of a component that constitutes a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI application program generating method characterized in that it comprises:

an input data receiving step;
a logical component selection step of selectively extracting a logical component from a logical component storage section that stores logical components in which a program related to the function of the component is stored;
a graphics representation component selection step of selecting one graphics representation component storage section from a plurality of graphics representation component storage section storing a plurality of distinct graphics representation process execution program, regarding graphics representation of components including at least a paint process execution program and an animation execution program based on received information at said input data receiving step; and
an edit processing step of generating a GUI component by combining a logical component extracted from said logical component storage section and a graphics representation component extracted from said graphics representation component storage section based on received information at said input data receiving step. - View Dependent Claims (12)
