A method for setting up a call for a push to talk (PTT) service in an access network of a cellular mobile telecommunication system in a system comprising a user agent (UA) capable of performing packet data communication, a cellular mobile telecommunication system capable of providing the UA with a packet data service, and a PTT server connected to the cellular mobile telecommunication system and capable of providing a PTT service for packet data, the method comprising the steps of:

  • creating a short data burst (SDB)-type PTT request message as a data burst record when paging is requested from the UA and configuring a data base message (DBM) in such a manner that it includes the created SDB, inserting it into a general page message (GPM), and transmitting it via a predetermined forward channel.
