Abstract

A ground station multiplexes audio digital data of a plurality of audio broadcasts, GUI data, and download audio data and transmits the multiplexed signal to a receiving side through a satellite. The receiving side displays a GUI screen corresponding to an audio broadcast. When a music information selection command is input on the display screen, and audio broadcast of a music program corresponding to the music information is selected. When a music information download command is input on the display screen, download audio data corresponding to the music information is output. The download audio data is stored to a storage device so as to download audio data corresponding to a desired music title.

Claims

1. A transmitting method comprising:

multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio broadcasts and digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast, the digital data including interactive GUI data used to generate an interactive on-screen display to allow interaction between the user and the display;

inserting an identification signal that represents a start position and an end position of a music title in the audio digital data of an audio broadcast; and

transmitting the multiplexed signal.

2. A transmitting method comprising:

multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio broadcasts, digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast and download audio data compressed in a predetermined compression format, the digital data including interactive GUI data used to generate an interactive on-screen display to allow interaction between the user and the display;

inserting identification data that represents a start position and an end position in the download audio data; and

transmitting the multiplexed signal.

3. A transmitting method comprising:

multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio channel broadcasts and digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast, the audio digital data of each of the audio channel broadcasts comprising a plurality of identical music titles repeatedly transmitted within a program period;

inserting identification data that represents a start position and an end position of each of the music titles in each of the music titles in each of the audio channel broadcasts; and

transmitting the multiplexed signal.

4. The transmitting method of claim 3, further comprising inserting the identification data at the beginning and end of each of the music titles.

5. A transmitting method comprising:

multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio channel broadcasts, digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast and download audio data compressed in a predetermined compression format, the audio digital data of each of the audio channel broadcasts comprising a plurality of identical music titles repeatedly transmitted within a program period, the download audio data comprising compressed music titles corresponding to the music titles of each of the audio channel broadcasts;

inserting identification data that represents a start position and an end position of each of the music titles in each of the music titles in the download audio data; and

transmitting the multiplexed signal.

6. The transmitting method of claim 5, wherein the music titles within the download audio data are contained within data packets and the method further comprises inserting the identification data in a header of each of the data packets.

A transmitting apparatus for multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio channel broadcasts and digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast, the audio digital data of each of the audio channel broadcasts comprising a plurality of identical music titles repeatedly transmitted within a program period, the transmitting apparatus comprising:

an identification signal generating circuit for inserting identification data that represents a start position and an end position of each of the music titles in each of the music titles in each of the audio channel broadcasts.

8. The transmitting apparatus of claim 7, wherein the identification data is inserted at the beginning and end of each of the music titles.

9. A transmitting apparatus for multiplexing audio digital data of a plurality of audio channel broadcasts, digital data for an information screen corresponding to a transmitted audio broadcast and download audio data compressed in a predetermined compression format, the audio digital data of each of the audio channel broadcasts comprising a plurality of identical music titles repeatedly transmitted within a program period, the download audio data comprising compressed music titles corresponding to the music titles of each of the audio channel broadcasts, the transmitting apparatus comprising:

an ID adding circuit for inserting identification data that represents a start position and an end position of each of the music titles in each of the music titles in the download audio data.

10. The transmitting apparatus of claim 9, wherein the music titles within the download audio data are contained within data packets and the identification data are inserted in a header of each of the data packets.
