Abstract

A method determining the broadcasts to be included in a transmission includes the steps of: receiving by a first party from a second party informational content of the second party to be contained in a broadcast; receiving by the first party from the second party a selection of one or more wireless transmitters of the network for transmitting a transmission including the broadcast containing the received informational content; and assembling by the first party a plurality of broadcasts for inclusion in a transmission from a wireless transmitter selected by the second party, a broadcast of the transmission containing the informational content received by the first party from the second party.

Claims

1. In a system in which wireless transmitters of a network transmit transmissions containing broadcasts, each respective broadcast comprising informational content for presentation on a mobile device that wirelessly receives such transmissions, an invention comprising a method for determining the broadcasts to be included in a transmission, the method comprising the steps of:

(a) receiving by a first party from a second party informational content of the second party to be contained in a broadcast;

(b) receiving by the first party from the second party a selection of one or more wireless transmitters of the network for transmitting a transmission including the broadcast containing said received informational content; and

(c) assembling by the first party a plurality of broadcasts for inclusion in a transmission from a wireless transmitter selected by the second party, a broadcast of the transmission containing the informational content received by the first party from the second party.

The invention of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises the step of receiving by the first party from the second party a selection of one or more predetermined times for transmitting a transmission including the broadcast containing said received informational content, and transmitting at a predetermined time a transmission including a broadcast containing the informational content received by the first party from the second party.

3. The invention of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises the step of presenting the second party with a description of the locations of the wireless transmitters for selection thereof by the second party.

4. The invention of claim 3, wherein the description of the locations includes a description of the geographical locations of the wireless transmitters of the network.

5. The invention of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises the step of presenting the second party with an identification of respective times at which transmissions are made from each of the wireless transmitters of the network.

The invention of claim 1, wherein the method further comprises the steps of receiving by the first party from the second party identifying-information and including in the broadcast the informational content of the second party together with the identifying-information received from the second party.

7. The invention of claim 6, wherein the identifying-information includes directions to a location to which the informational content pertains.

8. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information includes an Internet address for acquisition of additional informational content.

9. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information includes an identification of the second party.

10. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information includes information describing the informational content.

11. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information includes an identification of the type of the informational content.

12. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information includes information identifying a location to which informational content pertains.

13. The invention of claim 7, wherein the identifying-information comprises GPS data whereby a mobile device having GPS capabilities can determine a proximity of the location.

14. The invention of claim 1, wherein the first party receives the informational content from the second party over the Internet.

15. The invention of claim 1, wherein the first party receives the selection of the wireless transmitters from the second party over the Internet.
