- an impact head having a contact end opposite an attachment end;
an impact head central bore having a bore diameter disposed in said impact head at said attachment end and extending toward said contact end having an impact head central bore base as a farthest extension of said impact head central bore; and
an annular slot concentrically disposed and parallel to said impact head central bore extending into said impact head from said attachment end of said impact head;

An impact head for a chiropractic adjustment tool or taper comprising an impact head with a central bore having a bore diameter disposed in the impact head at the attachment end, an annular slot concentrically disposed and parallel to the impact head central bore extending into the impact head from the attachment end of the impact head, a reciprocating rod having a rod center bore and an annular reciprocating rod insert end wherein the reciprocating rod attaches to the impact head by inserting the reciprocating rod insert end into the annular slot of the impact head and in a central insert having an insert diameter inserted into the impact head central.

11. A method of attaching an impact head to a reciprocating rod comprising the steps of:

inserting an annular reciprocating rod insert end of a reciprocating rod into an annular slot concentric to an impact head central bore in an impact head;
pressing said reciprocating rod into said impact head until said reciprocating rod insert end is fully seated in said annular slot; and
inserting a central insert into said impact head central bore of said impact head;

11-1. The method of attaching an impact head to a reciprocating rod in accordance with claim 12 further comprising the step of twisting said reciprocating rod while pressing said reciprocating rod into said impact head.
