1. A method of transmitting service availability information about an MBMS (Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service) service to UEs (User Equipments) within a plurality of cells of an RNC (Radio Network Controller) for controlling the MBMS service for the UEs, in a mobile communication system, the method comprising the steps of:

  • determining if the MBMS service is available and if resources are sufficient for the MBMS service in each of the plurality of cells;

    transmitting a paging message including service availability information and resource availability information to UEs that are located within cells in which the MBMS service is available; and

    transmitting, to the UEs within the plurality of cells, a service availability message including resource availability information about at least one MBMS service available in each of the cells.
