Abstract

A mobile game device for selective display of one or more pre-purchased games of chance thereon. The game device includes a removable communication interface adapted to communicate with a central gaming system to selectively receive gaming data controlling the play and outcome of the pre-purchased game of chance, generated at a first time. The game device further includes a display screen, and one or more input mechanisms. A game device microprocessor device is provided which is configured to: commence play, selectively activated by operation of the one or more input mechanisms, of the pre-purchased games of chance using the gaming data at a selected second time after the first time; and selectively display on the display screen the generated outcome of the game of chance.

Claims

1. A game device for selective display of a pre-purchased game of chance, the game device comprising;

a communication interface adapted to communicate with a central gaming system to selectively receive gaming data controlling the play and outcome of the pre-purchased game of chance, generated at a first time;

a display screen;

one or more input mechanisms; and

a game device microprocessor device configured to;

1) commence play, selectively activated by operation of the one or more input mechanisms, of the pre-purchased game of chance using said gaming data at a selected second time after said first time; and

2) selectively display on the display screen the generated outcome of the game of chance.

2. The game device of claim 1, wherein

said communication interface includes at least one of a hard wired communication interface, an intermediary communication interface and a wireless communication interface.

3. The game device of claim 2, wherein

said wireless communication interface includes a wireless communication protocol selected from the group consisting of IEEE 802.1x, Bluetooth, IrDA, TDMA, CDMA, GSM and HomeRF.

4. The game device of claim 2, wherein

said intermediary communication interface includes a removable peripheral device adapted for selective communication between the game device and the central gaming system, said removable peripheral being adapted to transfer at least a portion of said gaming data therebetween to effect the play and outcome of said game of chance.

5. The game device of claim 4, wherein

said removable peripheral device includes a peripheral microprocessor and a storage medium to store the at least a portion of said gaming data,

6. The game device of claim 5, wherein

said removable peripheral device is selected from the group consisting of a smartcard, an E-key dongle, a memory stick, and a Secure Digital card.

7. The game device of claim 3, wherein

said player microprocessor is further configured to:

instruct the central gaming system to initiate the generation of gaming data controlling the play and outcome of two or more pre-purchased games of chance, the last outcome of which is generated at the first time;

receive the gaming data generated by the central gaming system, via the wire-less communication interface; and

selectively display on the display screen, at the selected second time, the play and corresponding outcomes of the two or more games of chance using the associated gaming data.

8. The game device of claim 1, wherein

said commence play by said player microprocessor is performed through passive execution of said game of chance wherein said gaming data corresponds to the play and outcome of said game of chance previously executed by said central gaming system for time-shifted display thereof on the display screen at said second time.

9. The game device of claim 1, wherein

said communication interface includes a wireless communication interface having a wireless communication protocol selected from the group consisting of IEEE 802.1x, Bluetooth, IrDA, TDMA, CDMA, GSM and HomeRF.

10. The game device of claim 1, wherein

the game of chance is selected from the group consisting of slot games, poker, pachinko, multiple hand poker games, pai-gow poker, black jack, keno, bingo, roulette, craps and card game.

11. The game device of claim 1, wherein

said game device is in the form of a portable game device.

31. The method of claim 1C, wherein

said reconciling further includes comparing the post-viewed gaming data with the pre-viewed gaming data.

12. A portable game device for selective, time-shifted, display of one or more games of chance previously executed and generated on a central gaming system, in the form of gaming data relating to the play and outcome of the one or more games of chance, the last outcome of which is generated at a first time, the game device comprising;

a communication interface adapted to communicate with the central gaming system to selectively receive the gaming data;

a display screen;

one or more input mechanisms; and

a microprocessor device configured to;

1) execute time-shifted replay of play and outcome of the one or more games of chance using said gaming data at a selected second time after said first time, commenced by input signals generated from the one or more input mechanisms; and

     2) selectively display on the display screen the previously generated play and outcome of the one or more games of chance.

13. The portable game device of claim 12, wherein

said communication interface includes at least one of a wired communication interface and a wireless communication interface.

14. The portable game device of claim 13, wherein

said wireless communication interface includes a wireless communication protocol selected from the group consisting of IEEE 802.1x, Bluetooth, IrDA, TDMA, CDMA, GSM and HomeRF.

15. The portable game device of claim 12, wherein

said microprocessor is further configured to instruct the central gaming system to initiate play of two or more games of chance including the outcomes thereof, the last outcome of which is generated at the first time;

to receive the gaming data generated by the master gaming controller, via the communication interface; and

to selectively display on the display screen the previously initiated play and outcome of said two or more games of chance, at the selective time-shifted second time.

16. The portable game device of claim 14, wherein

said one or more input mechanisms is adapted to instruct said microprocessor to display the previously initiated play of said two or more games of chance generated by the remote master gaming controller in any selected order.

17. The portable game device of claim 14, wherein

said one or more input mechanisms is adapted to instruct said microprocessor to display the previously initiated play of said two or more games of chance received from the remote master gaming controller in accordance with a selected predetermined category of outcomes of the previously initiated one or more games of chance.

18. The portable game device of claim 17, wherein

said predetermined category of outcomes includes winning outcomes and losing outcomes.

19. The portable game device of claim 14, further comprising:

a memory unit adapted to store the gaming data relating to the play and outcome of the previously executed play of two or more games of chance received by the communication interface.

20. The portable game device of claim 19, wherein

said gaming data is in the form of video data to view the play and outcome of the two or more games of chance on said display at said second time.

21. The portable game device of claim 20, wherein

said video data is in the form of an mpeg file.

22. The portable game device of claim 12, wherein

the one or more inputs mechanisms are selected from the group consisting of a touch screen, a input switch, an input button and biometric input device.

23. The portable game device of claim 12, wherein

the microprocessor is adapted to automatically receive the gaming data generated by said remote master gaming controller for said selective display of the previously initiated play of said game of chance at the second time.

24. The portable game device of claim 12, wherein

the microprocessor is adapted to selectively receive the gaming data from said remote master gaming controller for said selective display of the previously initiated play of said game of chance at the second time.

25. A method for executing pre-purchased gaming play for a portable gaming device comprising:

selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, on a central gaming system, representing the play and outcome of one or more pre-purchased games of chance, the last game of which is generated at a first time;

selectively communicating said pre-viewed gaming data from the central gaming system to the gaming device; and

reconciling post-viewed gaming data from the gaming device, viewed at a time-shifted second time after said first time, with the central gaming system for authentication of said post-viewed gaming data.

26. The method of claim 25, wherein

said selectively communicating includes communicating said pre-viewed gaming data through a removable communication interface adapted for communication between said central gaming system and the gaming device.

27. The method of claim 26, wherein

said selectively communicating includes removably receiving said communication interface in a reader device electrically coupled to the central gaming system.

28. The method of claim 27, wherein

said selectively communicating further includes storing, via the reader device, said pre-viewed gaming data onto a storage unit of the removable communication interface, and

said reconciling post-viewed gaming data includes retrieving, via the reader device, said post-viewed gaming data from said storage unit of the removable communication interface.

29. The method of claim 27, wherein

said communication interface is adapted to be removable mounted to said gaming device.

30. The method of claim 29, wherein

the removable communication interface is selected from the group consisting of a smartcard, an E-key dongle, a memory stick, and a Secure Digital card.

32. The method of claim 25, wherein

after said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, storing said pre-viewed gaming data on said central gaming system.

33. The method of claim 25, wherein

before said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, receiving an input selection for at least one of a game theme, a number of games to be pre-purchased, an amount wagered, a denomination per game wagered and a player identification.

34. The method of claim 33, wherein

after said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, storing said pre-viewed gaming data and at least one of said game theme, said number of games to be pre-purchased, said amount wagered, said denomination per game wagered and said player identification on said central gaming system.

35. The method of claim 25, wherein

said pre-viewed and said post-viewed gaming data is in the form of video data.

36. The method of claim 35, wherein

said video data is in the form of an mpeg file.

37. The method of claim 25, wherein

after said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, encrypting said pre-viewed gaming data.

38. A method for executing gaming play on a remote gaming device comprising:

selectively receiving pre-viewed gaming data, executed on central gaming system, on the gaming device, said pre-viewed gaming data representing one or more pre-purchased games of chance, the last game of which is executed at a first time;

receiving input instructions from one or more input mechanisms of the gaming device to commence play of said pre-viewed gaming data representing the play and outcome of the one or more pre-purchased games of chance executed by the central gaming system; and

displaying the play and outcome of the one or more pre-purchased games of chance on a display screen of the gaming device, at a second time after said first time, wherein said pre-viewed gaming data thereafter constituting post-viewed gaming data.

39. The method of claim 38, further including:

transferring said post-viewed gaming data from said gaming device to the central gaming system for use in the authentication of said post-viewed gaming data.

40. The method of claim 39, wherein

said receiving pre-viewed gaming data and said transferring said post-viewed data is performed through a communication interface adapted to communicate said gaming device with the central gaming system.

41. The method of claim 40, further including

removably receiving said communication interface in a reader device of the gaming device for said receiving and transferring of the gaming data.

42. The method of claim 41, wherein

said selectively receiving said pre-viewed gaming data includes retrieving, via the reader device, said pre-viewed gaming data from a storage unit of the removable communication interface, and

said transferring said post play gaming data includes storing, via the reader device, said post-viewed gaming data onto said storage unit of the removable communication interface.

43. The method of claim 41, wherein

the removable communication interface is selected from the group consisting of a smartcard, an E-key dongle, a memory stick, and a Secure Digital card.

44. A method for providing a game play session on a portable gaming device comprising:

selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, on a central gaming system, representing one or more pre-purchased games of chance, the last game of which is generated at a first time;

selectively communicating said pre-viewed gaming data from said gaming system to a removable communication interface;

retrieving said pre-viewed gaming data from said removable communication interface to the gaming device; and

selectively viewing the play and outcome of the pre-purchased one or more games of chance on a display screen of the gaming device, at a second time after said first time, wherein said pre-viewed gaming data thereafter constituting post-viewed gaming data.

45. The method of claim 44, further comprising:

selectively communicating said post-viewed gaming data from said gaming player to said removable communication interface.

46. The method of claim 45, further comprising:

retrieving said post-viewed gaming data from said removable communication interface to said central gaming system.

47. The method of claim 46, further comprising:

reconciling the post-viewed gaming data with the pre-viewed gaming data generated by the central gaming system to authenticate the post-viewed gaming data.

48. The method of claim 47, wherein

said reconciling further includes comparing the post-viewed gaming data with said pre-viewed gaming data.

49. The method of claim 44, wherein

said selectively communicating said pre-viewed gaming data includes storing, via a reader device coupled to the central gaming system, said pre-viewed gaming data onto a storage unit of the removable communication interface, and

said retrieving post play gaming data includes retrieving, via the reader device, said post-viewed gaming data from said storage unit of the removable communication interface.

50. The method of claim 44, further including:

before said selectively viewing the pre-viewed gaming data, receiving input instructions from one or more input mechanisms of the gaming device to commence viewing thereof.

51. The method of claim 44, wherein

after said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, storing said pre-viewed gaming data on said central gaming system.

52. The method of claim 51, wherein

said pre-viewed and said post-viewed gaming data is in the form of video data.

53. The method of claim 44, wherein

after said selectively generating pre-viewed gaming data, encrypting said pre-viewed gaming data.
