Abstract

A user interface method for creating a multimedia message of a mobile communication terminal is disclosed in which menu fields for creating a multimedia message are displayed in one screen, and when inputting content for each menu field is completed, it is automatically switched to a multimedia message-creating screen in which a selecting bar is positioned at the next field. In addition, while a user is using a multimedia function, a current image can be switched to the multimedia message-creating screen according to a user'"'"'s need. Thus, the number of user'"'"'s key manipulations can be reduced in creating the multimedia message, thereby enhancing a user'"'"'s convenience.

Claims

1. A mobile communication terminal comprising:

a user interface for creating a multimedia message in a multimedia message-creating screen that displays a plurality of menu fields, wherein, upon completion of inputting content in a first menu field, a second menu field is automatically selected in the multimedia message-creating screen.

2. A method for creating a multimedia message in a mobile communication terminal, the method comprising the steps of:

selecting a first menu field in a multimedia message-creating screen;

inputting a content in an input screen of the first menu field; and

returning to the multimedia message-creating screen, wherein a second menu field has been automatically selected.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising the step of confirming the content of the input screen prior to returning to the multimedia message-creating screen.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the multimedia message-creating screen comprises:

a plurality of sequentially arranged menu fields for creating a multimedia message; and

an option menu comprising a command menu applicable to each of the sequentially arranged menu fields.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the step of inputting a content in an input screen comprises:

manually inputting a content in the input screen.

6. The method of claim 2, wherein the step of inputting a content in an input screen comprises:

recalling content previously stored in an internal memory of the mobile communication terminal; and

inputting the recalled content.

7. The method of claim 2, wherein the second field menu sequentially follows the first field menu.

8. A method for creating and sending a multimedia message in a mobile communication terminal via a user interface, the method comprising the steps of:

selecting a multimedia message-creating screen from a main menu;

selecting a first menu field from plurality of sequentially arranged menu fields in the message-creating screen;

inputting content in the first menu field;

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of inputting content in the first menu field, wherein a second menu field among the plurality of sequentially arranged menu fields is automatically selected; and

transmitting the multimedia message upon completion of creating the multimedia message.

9. The method of claim 8, further comprising the step of:

previewing the multimedia message prior to transmitting the message.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the multimedia message-creating screen comprises:

a field to input contact information of a recipient designated to receive the multimedia message;

a field to input a subject of the multimedia message;

a field to input text, which comprises a body of the message; and

a field to attach an image.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein the multimedia message-creating screen further comprises a field for attaching an audio file.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

manually inputting the contact information of the recipient via manipulation of at least one key disposed on the mobile communication terminal.

13. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

selecting the contact information from at least one contact information file previously stored in an internal memory of the mobile communication terminal.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein at least one recipient can be selected if the at least one contact information file comprises a group of recipients.

15. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

manually inputting text via manipulation of at least one key disposed on the mobile communication terminal.

16. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

selecting text from at least one text file previously stored in an internal memory of the mobile communication terminal.

17. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

selecting the image from at least one image file previously stored in an internal memory of the mobile communication terminal.

18. The method of claim 10, wherein the step of inputting content in the first menu field comprises:

selecting an option menu to generate the image using a camera installed on the mobile communication terminal;

photographing a subject via manipulation of at least one key disposed on the mobile communication terminal so that the image comprises a photograph of the subject; and

attaching the image to the multimedia message.

19. A graphic user interface for creating and sending a multimedia message in a mobile communication terminal with an integrated camera, the interface comprising:

a means for automatically selecting a second menu field in a multimedia message-creating screen that displays a plurality of menu fields after completion of inputting content in first menu field

20. A method for creating and sending a multimedia message in a mobile communication terminal with an integrated camera via a graphic user interface, the method comprising the steps of:

selecting a multimedia message-creating screen from a main menu, wherein the multimedia message-creating screen comprises a plurality of sequentially arranged menu fields;

selecting a contact information menu field from the plurality of sequentially arranged menu fields in the message-creating screen;

inputting contact information in the contact information menu field;

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of inputting contact information in the contact information menu field, wherein a subject field is automatically selected;

inputting subject data in the subject menu field;

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of inputting subject data in the subject menu field, wherein a text menu field is automatically selected;

inputting text in the text menu field;

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of inputting text in the text menu field, wherein a picture menu field is automatically selected;

attaching an image file in the picture menu field;

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of attaching the image file in the picture menu field; and

transmitting the multimedia message upon completion of creating the multimedia message.

21. The method of claim 20, further comprising the steps of:

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of attaching the image file in the picture menu field, wherein an audio menu field is automatically selected;

attaching an audio file in the audio menu field; and

returning to the message-creating screen upon completion of attaching the audio file in the audio menu field.

22. The method of claim 20, further comprising the steps of:

selecting an option menu to generate the audio file using a voice recorder installed in the mobile communication terminal; and

recording a voice message via manipulation of at least one key disposed on the mobile communication terminal so that the audio file comprises a voice message.

23. The method of claim 20, further comprising the steps of:

selecting an option menu to generate the image file using the integrated camera; and

photographing a subject via manipulation of at least one key disposed on the mobile communication terminal so that the image file comprises a photograph of the subject.
