Abstract

A web server is disclosed that is configured to host at least one home page for a fee. The web server is also configured to associate keywords with the home page to facilitate later location. The web server may also present a search result page responsive to a keyword search by a user containing results arranged in list form, each of the search results comprising a link to a corresponding fee-based full page entry stored in the web site having associated keywords similar to keywords used in the search. The web server will also present a fee-based full page entry responsive to request from the user to view one of a selected search results on the search result page.

Claims

1. A method for presenting fee-based information on a web site comprising:

providing a web server coupled to a computer network having a database operatively disposed within and accessible on said network;

hosting at least one home page for a fee, said home page comprising at least one fee-based full-page entry;

associating keywords with said at least one home page to facilitate later location of said fee-based full-page entries stored in said database;

presenting a search result page responsive to a keyword search by a user containing results arranged in list form, each of said search results comprising a link to a corresponding fee-based full page entry stored in said web site having associated keywords similar to keywords used in said keywords search; and

presenting a fee-based full page entry responsive to request from said user to view one of a selected search results on said search result page.

2. The method of claim 1, further including the act of logging in by said user prior to being presented said full page entry.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein said full page entry has a URL different than said web site.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by category.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by keyword.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by URL.

7. The method of claim 1, further including the act of presenting a page containing a pre-sorted listing corresponding to the most common searches performed on said web site.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by sub-category.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by category tree.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by category and keyword.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein said act of searching said database includes searching by category, keyword and URL.

12. A web server for presenting fee-based information on a web site comprising:

a web server coupled to a computer network having a database operatively disposed within and accessible on said network, said server being configured to;

host at least one home page for a fee, said home page comprising at least one fee-based full-page entry;

associate keywords with said at least one home page to facilitate later location of said fee-based full-page entries stored in said database;

present a search result page responsive to a keyword search by a user containing results arranged in list form, each of said search results comprising a link to a corresponding fee-based full page entry stored in said web site having associated keywords similar to keywords used in said keywords search; and

present a fee-based full page entry responsive to request from said user to view one of a selected search results on said search result page.

13. The web server of claim 12, further configured to allow a user to log in prior to being presented said full page entry.

14. The web server of claim 12, wherein said full page entry has a URL different than said web site.

15. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by category.

16. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by keyword.

17. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by URL.

18. The web server of claim 12, further configured to present a page containing a pre-sorted listing corresponding to the most common searches performed on said web site.

19. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by sub-category.

20. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by category tree.

21. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by category and keyword.

22. The web server of claim 12, further configured to search by category, keyword and URL.
