Abstract

Systems and methods of the present invention allow for providing suggested domain names in connection to email messages. An email message is sent from a sender to a recipient. A domain name module generates suggested domain names based on the properties of the email message (e.g. content and headers) and/or based on the properties of a network connection utilized to view the email message (e.g. user'"'"'s geographical location). Suggested domain names are embedded into the email message or displayed in proximity to the email message. A user viewing the email message may notice an appealing domain name among the suggested domain names. Then the user may register, purchase, or backorder it. The invention may be used as a marketing technique for registration, sale, or resale of the domain names.

Claims

1. A system for providing relevant email ads for a domain name advertiser comprising:

a) an email message,

b) an advertisement associated with said email message, wherein said advertisement is having an ability to display one or more suggested domain names, and

c) a domain name module, wherein said domain name module is a technological means for producing said one or more suggested domain names based on properties of said email message and/or based on properties of a network connection utilized to view said email message.

2. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

d) a sender having an ability to send said email message.

3. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

d) a receiver having an ability to receive said email message.

4. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

d) a domain name advertiser, wherein said domain name advertiser maintains said domain name module.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein said domain name advertiser is a domain name registry.

6. The system of claim 4, wherein said domain name advertiser is a domain name registrar.

7. The system of claim 4, wherein said domain name advertiser is a domain name reseller.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein said domain name module comprises a domain name generator.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein said domain name module comprises a domain name database.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein said domain name database stores active domain names.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein said domain name database stores expired domain names.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein said domain name database stores domain names with the “

on hold”

status.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein said domain name database stores domain names available for sale through a secondary market.

14. The system of claim 1, wherein said advertisement is embedded into a body of said email message.

15. The system of claim 1, wherein said advertisement is displayed in proximity to said email message.

16. The system of claim 1, wherein said properties of said email message comprise a content of said email message.

17. The system of claim 1, wherein said properties of said email message comprise a subject of said email message.

18. The system of claim 1, wherein said properties of said email message comprise a “

33. A system for providing suggested domain names comprising:

a) an email message,

b) one or more suggested domain names embedded into said email message or displayed in proximity to said email, and

c) a domain name module, wherein said domain name module is a technological means for producing said one or more suggested domain names based on properties of said email message and/or based on properties of a network connection utilized to view said email message.

34. A method for displaying relevant email ads for a domain name advertiser, comprising a step of:

a) placing an advertisement within an email message or in proximity to said email message, wherein said advertisement displays one or more suggested domain names based on properties of said email message and/or based on properties of a network connection utilized to view said email message.

35. The method of claim 34, further comprising a step of:

b) transferring said email message from a sender to a receiver.

36. The method of claim 34, wherein step a) comprising the steps of:

a1) analyzing said properties of said email message,

a2) generating said one or more suggested domain names, and

a3) displaying said one or more suggested domain names on said advertisement.

37. The method of claim 34, further comprising the steps of:

b) viewing said email message,

c) clicking on said advertisement, and

d) displaying a webpage, wherein said webpage shows availability of said one or more suggested domain names for registration, purchase, or backorder.

38. The method of claim 37, further comprising a step of:

e) registering said one or more suggested domain names.

39. The method of claim 37, further comprising a step of:

e) purchasing said one or more suggested domain names.

40. The method of claim 37, further comprising a step of:

e) backordering said one or more suggested domain names.

41. The method of claim 34, wherein said placing said advertisement comprises embedding said advertisement into a body of said email message.

42. The method of claim 34, wherein said placing said advertisement comprises displaying said advertisement in proximity to said email message.

43. The method of claim 34, wherein said properties of said email message comprise a content of said email message.

44. The method of claim 34, wherein said properties of said email message comprise a subject of said email message.

60. A method for displaying suggested domain names, comprising a step of:

a) placing one or more suggested domain names within an email message or in proximity to said email message, wherein said one or more suggested domain names are generated based on properties of said email message and/or based on properties of a network connection utilized to view said email message.
