Abstract
The present invention relates to compositions including medium chain peroxycarboxylic acid, methods for making these compositions, and methods for reducing the population of a microorganism. The compositions can include advantageously high levels of the medium chain peroxycarboxylic acid, can be readily made, and/or can exhibit reduced odor.

about 0.001 to about 5 wt-% sequestrant;

30. A method of making a medium chain peroxycarboxylic acid composition, the method comprising:

combining;
about 1 to about 10 wt-% octanoic acid;
about 0 to about 98 wt-% water;
about 2 to about 20 wt-% oxidizing agent; and
about 1 to about 80 wt-% at least one of polyalkylene oxide, monoalkyl ether of polyalkylene oxide, dialkyl ether of polyalkylene oxide, nonionic surfactant, and anionic surfactant;
