Abstract

A method of managing purchasing orders for a plurality of items to be purchased is shown. The method includes receiving a personal variant including search criteria associated with retail items to be used in populating an order list, populating a purchase order list based upon the personal variant, displaying the purchase order list including order list items satisfying criteria in the personal variant, receiving a selection of purchase order list items and providing a list of functions associated with the selected purchase order list items, and performing the selected functions on the order list item.

Claims

1. A method of managing purchasing orders for a plurality of items to be purchased, the method comprising:

receiving a personal variant including search criteria associated with retail items to be used in populating an order list;

populating a purchase order list based upon the personal variant;

displaying the purchase order list including order list items satisfying criteria in the personal variant;

receiving a selection of purchase order list items and providing a list of functions associated with the selected purchase order list items; and

performing the selected functions on the order list item.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the purchasing order list includes at least one of an item identifier, a quantity, a price, an order date, a delivery date, and a delivery location for each order list item.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the purchase order list is configured to be sorted according to different types of purchasing data.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the purchase order list is configured to be sorted using a graphical user interface.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising updating the purchase order list to include data from a purchase order that has been generated for an item in the purchase order list.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the functions include at least one of generating a grouped purchase order document, generating a purchase order, creating an OL item, creating a grouped purchase order document, and creating a purchase order.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the items to be purchased include retail sales articles.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the purchasing order list is a list of retail sales articles and corresponding planned purchasing quantities for selected planning levels.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list is specific to a store delivery date and assortment.

10. The method of claim 9, further including multiplying each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list by a number of stores in the assortment to obtain a corresponding total purchasing quantity for the purchase order list

11. A system for organizing purchasing data for a plurality of items to be purchased, the system comprising:

means for receiving a personal variant including search criteria associated with retail items to be used in populating an order list;

means for populating an order list based upon the personal variant;

means for displaying the purchase order list including order list items satisfying criteria in the personal variant;

means for receiving a selection of order list items and providing a list of functions associated with the selected order list items; and

means for performing the selected functions on the order list item.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the purchasing order list includes at least one of an item identifier, a quantity, a price, an order date, a delivery date, and a delivery location for each order list item.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the functions include at least one of generating a grouped purchase order document, generating a purchase order, creating an OL item, creating a grouped purchase order document, and creating a purchase order.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the purchase order list is configured to be sorted using a graphical user interface.

15. The system of claim 11, further comprising means for updating the purchase order list to include data from a purchase order that has been generated for an item in the purchase order list.

16. The system of claim 11, wherein the purchasing data includes data manually entered by a user.

17. The system of claim 11, wherein the order list items include retail sales articles.

18. The system of claim 11, wherein the purchasing data includes data received from a purchasing list.

19. The system of claim 18, wherein the purchasing list is a list of retail sales articles and corresponding planned purchasing quantities for selected planning levels.

20. The system of claim 19, wherein each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list is specific to a store delivery date and assortment.

21. The system of claim 20, further including multiplying each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list by a number of stores in the assortment to obtain a corresponding total purchasing quantity for the purchase order list

22. A program product for organizing purchasing data for a plurality of items to be purchased, the program product comprising machine-readable program code for causing, when executed, one or more machines to perform the following method steps:

receiving a personal variant including search criteria associated with retail items to be used in populating an order list;

populating an order list based upon the personal variant;

displaying the order list including retails items satisfying criteria in the personal variant;

receiving a selection of order list items and providing a list of functions or applications that associated with the selected order list items; and

performing the selected functions on the order list item.

23. The program product of claim 22, wherein the purchasing data includes at least one of an item identifier, a quantity, a price, an order date, a delivery date, and a delivery location.

24. The program product of claim 22, wherein the functions include at least one of generating a grouped purchase order document, generating a purchase order, creating an OL item, creating a grouped purchase order document, and creating a purchase order.

25. The program product of claim 22, further comprising updating the purchase order list to include data from a purchase order that has been generated for an item in the purchase order list.

26. The program product of claim 22, wherein the purchasing data includes data manually entered by a user.

27. The program product of claim 22, wherein the items to be purchased include retail sales articles.

28. The program product of claim 23, wherein the purchasing data includes data received from a purchasing list.

29. The program product of claim 28, wherein the purchasing list is a list of retail sales articles and corresponding planned purchasing quantities for selected planning levels.

30. The program product of claim 29, wherein each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list is specific to a store delivery date and assortment.

31. The program product of claim 30, further including multiplying each planned purchasing quantity in the purchasing list by a number of stores in the assortment to obtain a corresponding total purchasing quantity for the purchase order list.
