Abstract

A system, method and program product are provided for organizing a store into a department store having shops associated therewith. The method includes receiving a designation of at least one store as being a department store. The department stores of the enterprise defining a department store organizational level. A designation of at least one shop having a type and being a member of the department store is received. A shop organizational level is defined by each shop in the enterprise. The shop operates as a component of the associated department store.

Claims

1. A method for defining in a computerized assortment planning system for use in an operative execution system an enterprise having stores, comprising the steps of:

receiving a designation of at least one store as being a department store;

defining a department store level as an organizational unit consisting of each department store in the enterprise;

receiving a designation of at least one shop having a type and being a member of the department store; and

defining a shop level as an organizational unit consisting of each shop in the enterprise.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of performing retail operations at the shop level.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein retail processes performed at each shop are determined by a type assigned to each shop.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising reporting at the department store level or the shop level.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising a stock placement of a good in at least two shops within the same department store.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising generating the shop from data associated with the department store.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising generating the shop from data associated with a reference shop.

8. A computerized store organization system for defining the organization of stores within an enterprise, comprising:

a plurality of stores, at least one designated as a department store; and

at least one shop assigned to the department store, wherein the shop is an organizational subdivision of the department store.

9. The computerized system of claim 8, wherein retail operations are performed at the shop level.

10. The computerized system of claim 9, wherein retail processes performed at each shop are determined by a type assigned to each shop.

11. The computerized system of claim 8, further comprising reporting at the department store level or the shop level.

12. The computerized system of claim 8, further comprising a stock placement of a good in at least two shops within the same department store.

13. The computerized system of claim 8, further comprising generating the shop from data associated with an organizational unit selected from the group consisting of the department store, a reference shop, or combinations thereof.

14. The computerized system of claim 8, further comprising associating a closed notation with a shop.

15. A program product for defining an enterprise organization in an operative execution system, the program product comprising machine-readable program code for causing, when executed, one or more machines to perform the following method steps:

receiving a designation of at least one store as being a department store;

defining a department store level as an organizational unit consisting of each department store in the enterprise;

receiving a designation of at least one shop having a type and being a member of the department store; and

defining a shop level as an organizational unit consisting of each shop in the enterprise.

16. The program product of claim 15, further comprising the step of performing retail operations at the shop level.

17. The program product of claim 16, wherein retail processes performed at each shop are determined by a type assigned to each shop.

18. The program product of claim 15, further comprising the step of reporting at the department store level or the shop level.

19. The program product of claim 15, further comprising the step of a stock placement of a good in at least two shops within the same department store.

20. The program product of claim 15, further comprising the step of generating the shop from data associated with the department store.
