Abstract

Disclosed is a management system of difference data among servers, for comparing files possessed by a first server and files possessed by a second server, the management system comprising a configuration information storage unit for storing file names including file path information in correspondence with group names to which the files belong; a file name storage unit for storing the file names of the files possessed by the first server; a file acquisition unit for referencing the file names of the first server stored in the file name storage unit and acquiring the files indicated by the file names from the first and second servers; a file comparison unit for comparing the contents of the files of the first and second servers acquired from the first and second servers; and a difference information output unit for, if the two files are judged to be different in contents by the file comparison unit, acquiring the group name corresponding to the file name of the file of the first server from the configuration information storage unit and outputting the file name and the acquired group name.

Claims

1. A management system of difference data among servers, the management system having a CPU and a memory and being communicably connected to first and second servers installed with one or a plurality of software products, the management system comprising:

a configuration information storage unit, for storing file names including file path information generated by the installation of the software products in correspondence with product names that are information indicating by the installation of which of the software products the files have been generated;

a file name storage unit for storing the file names of the files possessed by the first server;

a file acquisition unit for referencing the file names of the first server stored in the file name storage unit and acquiring the files indicated by the file names from the first and second servers;

a file comparison unit for comparing the contents of the files of the first and second servers acquired from the first and second servers; and

a difference information output unit for, if the two files are judged to be different in contents by the file comparison unit, acquiring the product name corresponding to the file name of the file from the configuration information storage unit and outputting the file name and the acquired product name.

2. The management system of difference data among servers of claim 1, further comprising a file synchronization unit for storing the file of the second server in the first server under the file name if the two files are judged to be different in contents by the file comparison unit.

The management system of difference data among servers of claim 1, further comprising a file name acquisition request transmission unit for transmitting a request to the first server to acquire the file names of all or some of the files possessed by the first server, wherein the file name storage unit stores the file names of the first server received from the first server in response to the request transmitted from the file name acquisition request transmission unit.

The management system of difference data among servers of claim 1, further comprising a master file storage unit for storing the files possessed by the first server at the time of the installation of the files in the first server, wherein the file acquisition unit acquires the files stored in the master file storage unit as the files of the second server.

The management system of difference data among servers of claim 1, further comprising, in the presence of a server group made up of a plurality of servers with the same file configuration, a server group storage unit for storing identifiers of the servers in correspondence with an identifier of the server group, and a comparison target identification unit for referencing the server group storage unit, verifying a CPU load on the servers belonging to the same server group as the first server and selecting the server with the lowest CPU load, wherein the second server is the server selected by the server group management unit.

The management system of difference data among servers of claim 1, further comprising a setup comparison method storage unit for storing information indicating a data comparison method for each of the data items of the files of the first server in correspondence with the file name, wherein the file comparison unit verifies, at the time of the comparison of the contents of the files of the first and second servers, whether the file name of the file is stored or not in the setup comparison method storage unit and, if affirmative, compares the contents of the files of the first and second servers data item by data item in conformity with the data comparison method.

7. A control method of information processing apparatus having a CPU and a memory and being communicably connected to first and second servers installed with one or a plurality of software products, the control method comprising the steps of the information processing apparatus:

storing, as configuration information, file names including file path information generated by the installation of the software products in correspondence with product names that are information indicating by the installation of which of the software products the files have been generated;

storing the file names of the files possessed by the first server as file name information;

referencing the file name of the first server stored in the file name information and acquiring the files indicated by the file name from the first and second servers;

comparing the contents of the files of the first and second servers acquired from the first and second servers; and

if the two files are judged to be different in contents, acquiring the product name corresponding to the file name of the file from the configuration information and outputting the file name and the acquired product name.
