Abstract

A load test apparatus includes a computer which is implemented with an operating system having a window management function, and can be connected to a network device to be tested through an information network, and a terminal emulation program used to direct a computer to perform a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in a plurality of virtual terminals in a first window, and a second function capable of generating a plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window. The terminal emulation program is executed by the computer to access to the network device from the plurality of virtual terminals, thereby conducting a load test.

Claims

1. A signal carrying a terminal emulation program operating in a computer in which an operating system having a window management function is implemented, realizing:

a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in a plurality of virtual terminals in a first window, and

a second function capable of generating a plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window.

2. The signal according to claim 1, wherein

said second function uses window management information comprising:

a virtual terminal management number for identification of each of the virtual terminals in the first window;

a window management number in a virtual terminal for identification of the second window;

a window name for internal management assigned to each of the second windows; and

a parent window pointer for internal management for use in reference to a source window of each window.

3. The signal according to claim 1, wherein

said plurality of virtual terminals are connected to a network device to be tested through an information network, thereby conducting a load test of the network device.

4. The signal according to claim 1, wherein

said network device is a web server, and a web browser operating in each of the plurality of virtual terminals accesses the web server through an information network, thereby conducting a load test of the web server.

5. A computer-readable storage medium storing a terminal emulation program operating in a computer in which an operating system having a window management function is implemented, and used to direct a computer to realize:

a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in a plurality of virtual terminals in a first window; and

a second function capable of generating a plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window.

A load test method for generating a plurality of virtual terminals in a computer in which an operating system having a window management function is implemented, and conducting a load test on a network device to be tested by each of the virtual terminals accessing the network device through an information network, comprising:

a step of preparing a terminal emulation program for directing a computer to realize a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in the plurality of virtual terminals in a first window, and a second function capable of generating the plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window; and

a step of conducting a load test on the network device by directing the computer to execute the terminal emulation program and accessing the network device from the plurality of virtual terminals.

7. The method according to claim 6, wherein

said second function uses window management information comprising:

a virtual terminal management number for identification of each of the virtual terminals in the first window;

a window management number in a virtual terminal for identification of the second window;

a window name for internal management assigned to each of the second windows; and

a parent window pointer for internal management for use in reference to a source window of each window.

8. The method according to claim 6, wherein

before conducting a test, access history information by an actual physical terminal to the network device is collected, the plurality of virtual terminals access the network device according to the access history information, thereby conducting a load test of the network device.

9. The method according to claim 6, wherein

an operation log recording an access progress from an actual terminal to the network device is collected, and access to the network device from each of the plurality of virtual terminals is controlled based on the operation log, thereby conducting the load test.

10. The method according to claim 6, wherein

said network device is a web server, and a web browser is operated in each of the virtual terminals, and the web browser accesses the web server, thereby conducting a load test of the web server.

11. A load test apparatus, comprising:

a computer in which an operating system having a window management function is implemented and which is connected to a network device to be tested over an information network; and

a terminal emulation program used to direct the computer to realize a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in the plurality of virtual terminals in a first window and a second function capable of generating the plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window, wherein

the computer executes the terminal emulation program to access from the plurality of virtual terminals to the network device and conduct a load test on the network device.

12. The apparatus according to claim 11, wherein

said second function uses window management information comprising:

a virtual terminal management number for identification of each of the virtual terminals in the first window;

a window management number in a virtual terminal for identification of the second window;

a window name for internal management assigned to each of the second windows; and

a parent window pointer for internal management for use in reference to a source window of each window.

13. The apparatus according to claim 11, wherein

said network device is a web server, and a web browser is operated in each of the virtual terminals, and the web browser accesses the web server, thereby conducting a load test of the web server.

14. A signal carrying a terminal emulation program operating in a computer implemented with an operating system provided with a window management function, comprising:

a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in the plurality of virtual terminals in a first window; and

a second function capable of generating the plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window.

15. A terminal emulation method operating in a computer implemented with an operating system provided with a window management function, comprising:

a first step of providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in the plurality of virtual terminals in a first window; and

a second step of generating the plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window.

16. The method according to claim 15, wherein

said second function uses window management information comprising:

a virtual terminal management number for identification of each of the virtual terminals in the first window;

a window management number in a virtual terminal for identification of the second window;

a window name for internal management assigned to each of the second windows; and

a parent window pointer for internal management for use in reference to a source window of each window.

17. The method according to claim 15, wherein

said plurality of virtual terminals are connected to a network device to be tested through an information network, thereby conducting a load test of the network device.

18. The method according to claim 15, wherein

said network device is a web server, and a web browser operating in each of the plurality of virtual terminals is connected to the web server through an information network, thereby conducting a load test of the web server.

19. A load test system, comprising:

a load test apparatus comprising;

a computer implemented with an operating system having a window management function; and

a terminal emulation program used to direct the computer to realize a first function for providing an execution environment in an MDI system of an application in the plurality of virtual terminals in a first window and a second function capable of generating the plurality of second windows which cannot be discriminated by the window management function in the first window by managing independently from the operating system the second window generated in the first window;

a network device to be tested; and

an information network for connection of said load test apparatus to said network device.

20. The system according to claim 19, wherein

said network device is a web server, and a web browser operating in each of the plurality of virtual terminals is connected to the web server through an information network, thereby conducting a load test of the web server.
