Abstract

A mobile device including a multi-video interface is disclosed herein. The multi-video interface is configured to permit information present at the mobile device to be viewed at an external display. The external display is not required to specially process the output signals from the mobile device or otherwise implement an adapter.

Claims

1. A system for handling images or video, the system comprising:

an interface included in a mobile device;

an external device coupled to the interface; and

a signal included in at least one of the interface and the external device, the signal representative of images or video, wherein the signal is outputted from the interface and is in a video format for display or storage at the external device, or the signal is outputted from the external device and is in a video format for display or storage at the mobile device.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the external device is a device selected from a group including a television, a monitor, a video tape recorder (VTR), a video cassette recorder (VCR), a recordable DVD unit, and a device compatible with video formats.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the mobile device is a device selected from a group including a cellular telephone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a game console, a digital camera, a digital camcorder, and a portable computing device.

4. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a wireless transceiver included in the mobile device and in communication with the interface, wherein the signal is outputted from the interface or the external device for transmission at the wireless transceiver.

5. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a wireless transceiver included in the mobile device and in communication with the interface, wherein the signal is received from the wireless transceiver.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the signal outputted to the external device can be simultaneously displayed or stored at the external device and at the mobile device.

7. A mobile device, comprising:

an interface;

a display coupled to the interface;

a processing unit coupled to the interface; and

an image input unit coupled to the processing unit,

wherein image signals generated by the image input unit are processed by the processing unit and outputted by the interface to a video format compatible device for display or storage.

8. The mobile device of claim 7, wherein the display is configured to simultaneously present the image signals with the video format compatible device.

9. The mobile device of claim 7, further comprising a memory coupled to the processing unit, the memory configured to simultaneously store the image signals with the video format compatible device.

10. The mobile device of claim 7, wherein the video format compatible device is selected from a group including a television, a monitor, a video cassette recorder (VCR), a video tape recorder (VTR), and a recordable DVD device.
