1. An attachment system for attaching an accessory to an endoscopic device, comprising:
- a tissue folding apparatus having a helical tissue grasper configured for advancement through a working channel of an endoscope;
a bracing member having a longitudinal axis and which is engageable with at least one surface of the endoscope;
a ramp surface that is at an acute angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the bracing member; and
a wedge slidable on the ramp surface and adapted to provide a variable engagement force on a surface of the endoscope in opposition to that provided by the bracing member.

Abstract
Self-locking removable apparatus and methods for manipulating and securing tissue are described herein. In creating tissue folds within the body of a patient, a tissue manipulation assembly may generally have tissue stabilizing members adapted to stabilize tissue therebetween, an engagement member slidably disposed through the stabilizing members and having a distal end adapted to engage tissue, and a delivery tube pivotable about the tissue stabilizing members. The tissue manipulation assembly optionally may be configured for removable attachment to an endoscope.

12. An endoscopic accessory comprising:
-
a tissue folding apparatus having a helical tissue grasper; and
a self-locking attachment mechanism that is configured to increase an engagement force on an endoscope as a longitudinal force is applied to move the tissue folding apparatus longitudinally relative to the endoscope. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14)

15. A method of securing an endoscopic accessory to a distal end of an endoscope comprising:
-
placing an endoscopic accessory into engagement with an endoscope such that a first surface of the accessory engages a surface of the endoscope in a parallel relationship and a second surface of the accessory, which is at an acute angle relative to the first surface, places an increasing engagement force on the surface of the endoscope as a force is applied to move the accessory longitudinally relative to the endoscope;
engaging tissue with a helical tissue grasper extending from the accessory; and
folding the engaged tissue with the accessory. - View Dependent Claims (16)
