Abstract

The present invention permits improved data access and improved data management in a computer system. To this end, data are divided into individual partial data (F) and stored in cells (Z) of storage devices (C) in such a way that the partial data (F) being accessed and managed are present in the computer system in a redundant manner. Computer units (CL) are able to access the redundantly stored data. The fact that they are stored in the storage devices (C) ensures that the computer units (CL) accessing said data are supplied more rapidly. This is achieved in particular owing to the fact that the redundantly stored data are accessed in accordance with parameters of data transmissions between the computer units (CL) and the data storage devices (C) and that, in accordance with said data transmission parameters, the redundantly stored data are moved to and from the data storage devices (C) by corresponding copy and delete operations.

Claims

1. A data management system comprising:

at least one seeder that stores a plurality of file parts of a complete file;

at least one peer for downloading at least one file part from the seeder based on at least one of upload and download rates; and

wherein the seeder and one of the at least one peer stores at least one same file part.

2. The data management system of claim 1, wherein the at least one seeder and at least one peer are connected over a wireless network.

3. A data management system comprising:

at least one seeder that stores a plurality of file parts of a complete file;

at least one leecher for downloading at least one file part from the seeder based on at least one of upload and download rates; and

wherein the seeder and one of the at least one leecher stores at least one same file part.

4. The data management system of claim 3, wherein the at least one seeder and at least one leecher are connected over a wireless network.

5. A data management system comprising:

at least one complete downloader that stores a plurality of file parts of a complete file;

at least one incomplete downloader for downloading at least one file part from the complete downloader based on at least one of upload and download rates; and

wherein the complete downloader and one of the at least one incomplete downloader stores at least one same file part.

6. The data management system of claim 5, wherein the at least one complete downloader and the at least one incomplete downloader are connected over a wireless network.

7. A computer unit comprising:

a receiver for receiving or detecting information about an event; and

a transmitter for transmitting the information to a plurality of additional computer units based on predetermined parameters.

8. The computer unit of claim 7, wherein the computer unit transmits and receives the event over a wireless network.

9. A plurality of computer units distributed over a wireless network, the computer units comprising:

a receiver for receiving information about an event;

a transmitter for transmitting information about the event to a plurality of additional computer units based on a set of parameters; and

wherein at least one of the additional computer units accesses the information about the event.

10. The plurality of computer units of claim 9, wherein the plurality of computer units further comprise a sensor for detecting an event.

11. A data management system comprising:

a plurality of data storage systems for redundantly storing data;

at least one computer unit for accessing the data of at least one of the plurality of data storage systems;

a sensor for detecting prespecified parameters of data transmissions between the plurality of data storage systems and the at least one computer unit, wherein the data is redundantly stored as a function of the prespecified parameters; and

wherein the plurality of data storage systems shift data independent of an access of the at least one computer unit as a function of the detected prespecified parameters of the data transmissions between the plurality of data storage systems.
