a sensing interface having a first face and a second face; and
at least one pressure sensing unit comprising a sensing surface and non-sensing surface, wherein said pressure sensing unit contacts said second face of said sensing interface; and
a sensor housing, wherein said sensor housing is hermetically sealed to said pressure sensor assembly;
wherein at least portion of said sensing interface is adapted to reduce thrombosis.

Abstract
This invention relates generally to systems and methods for optimizing the performance and minimizing complications related to implanted sensors, such as pressure sensors, for the purposes of detecting, diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease in a medical patient. Systems and methods for anchoring implanted sensors to various body structures are also provided.
