Abstract
Disclosed is a bearing shell comprising a metallic supporting material which is coated with at least one sliding bearing material. At least one oil-bearing groove is engraved within the rear side of the supporting materials. According to a method; a band made of composite material is produced by coating one side of a metallic supporting material with at least one sliding bearing material; grooves are engraved into the bare supporting material of the band; strips of material are cut and shaped into bearing shells; and the inside of the bearing shells is machined, resulting in material being removed.
